"The place is in deep renovations. Had to ask for a different room as the one we initially got smelled too bad like paint. You go through endless hallways with rooms in construction. As one can imagine dirt and dust. I know it’s temporary but that was a bit unexpected and took away from the experience. Which otherwise should be quite nice."

"Highly recommend! We had our honeymoon here and it was a very beautiful historic building, very clean, and a very well-decorated room. Comfy beds, amazing jacuzzui, and spacious; true to the photos. Some issues: we did not realize it was two huge flights of stairs up to our room, so that was unexpectedly difficult with the luggage. We also had an issue with construction noise in the building next door, plus some confusion around where and how to park, but the hotel staff were quickly responsive and in the end, the hotel made it right, so were appreciative even though it was frustrating. Highly recommend a stay! Great access to local dining, shops and nightlife. We would definitely stay again if we return to Lake Placid."

"I would definitely stay here again. Great location! Super close walk to Main Street. Comfortable bed and nice sized bathroom. We seemed to have the only room with a window AC unit and the room stayed a little humid all of the time. The weather was fantastic so I would have loved to open the window, but we didn’t have a screen, so bugs could get in. That’s the only little hiccup. The pool was enjoyable and you are close enough to Main Street but without the noise. Very quiet and comfortable."
