Oceanfront Condominium with Great Amenities!

Shipwatch oceanfront condominiums, offered by Hodnett Cooper, have been a favorite family destination for many years. With just 52 residences, Shipwatch is a quiet community ideal for both weekend getaways and multiple month escapes.

Each residence features two bedrooms, two full baths, a combined living, dining, and kitchen area, and a private balcony. #103 is nicely furnished with tile floors in the living area.

Community amenities include boardwalk access to the heart of St. Simons' sand beaches, a swimming pool, volleyball area, large grass lawn, outdoor grills and complimentary in-room high speed internet service.

Though this community is located directly on the ocean, individual residences, unless otherwise specified, do not offer ocean views.

Beach Gear Credit Now Included Hodnett Cooper has partnered with VayK Gear, a beach delivery service provider to offer beach gear rentals to Hodnett Cooper guests in participating properties. Decent condo - beautiful area

The property was just ok. The front door only secured by a deadbolt that barely fit the door jam. The sliding door in the master bedroom didn’t close all of the way. The heat index was 110 degrees and the sign on the thermostat said “do not set below 70” so with a sliding door that doesn’t close, the room got pretty warm.Nothing majorly bad other than check in and doors/locks not working.The island itself is pretty. All of the tap water has a smell/taste of sulphur. The ocean water was brown.

Girls trip

Easy check in, short walk to beach, clean. Had concerns about toilet running and they responded right away. Would stay again but bring my own sheets...felt "pilly"

Enjoyed our stay

Our condo was small but nice and well appointed. The only complaint is that construction was going on that we weren’t aware of. When I brought it to their attention, we were given a 30# discount, which was fair and appreciated. Nice pool but it was a long walk to the beach.

First time many more in the future top shelf

A+ in all areas quietness was best. Everything within 5 miles . Security top shelf, no crowded beach no one blowing cigar smoke in our faces, respectful adults and children DRILL SGT. LIGHT loves some respectful people hard to come by now. Great place will hit it agian in the fall for anniversary.

Lovely

Our unit was nicely furnished and clean. The appliances were great. I’d bring chairs and good bug spray. The walk through the sea grass is brutal with spots of standing water where mosquitoes are abundant. Access in and out is easy with a code on a keypad.

First stay at Shipwatch on St Simon

We really enjoyed our stay at St Simons and Shipwreck. Great location and community. Everyone was very friendly and many that I spoke to have been staying at Shipwatch for many years. We will definitely come again.

Our first time to Georgia for a vacation. Property was clean and accurately listed. I wish it was closer to the downtown area.

Nice location. Condo was clean but had some damage to some of the furniture. No towel bars at all in master bath so no place to hang wet towels even for a shower. The bed in the master was terrible and the mattress sagged very badly.

Poor communication

First of all, poor signage of office location and overgrown greenery hiding entrance. Should have sign before you enter gate of where office is. Had the manager not been in parking lot, we would have had issues finding office. Main bathroom was dirty. Construction dust not wiped out. Blackness in tub. Not scrubbed. Master bath shower door does not close all the way. This caused water to soak bath mat and floor. In all of the multiple emails and texts and written instructions, no mention of needing a gate code to get back from beach! Thank goodness we met resident coming out who gave us the code. We would have been stranded! Multiple emails and text messages stating check out! Even the day before- very annoying and quite insulting. Never have stayed anywhere where we felt that we were being kicked out. On Saturday late morning/early afternoon a housekeeper just let herself in. No knocking at all. Was startled to find out we were in unit. Said we were not on roster and didn’t show us checking in until Sunday. Very strange because she stated she was there not to clean but to bring one kitchen towel there. There was a basket full of kitchen towels. She reeked of cigarette smoke and unkempt appearance. Very unsettling. Again, we are seasoned VRBO users and have never had anyone come into condo or house during our stay. Never had the multiple emails or texting about checkout either. Also, no issue with taking garbage out but to not have warning that you needed code to get back through walk through gate from dumpster. Not happy with management.

Anniversary Weekend
