Good morning, in trying to give you the biggest and fairest picture of this property, I would say that overall we had a pleasant trip. The staff is extremely friendly and quick to respond to any of your needs. We felt the hotel had charm and a beautiful view as promised. However, we also felt that the facility was very outdated and in need of many repairs. During our four day stay, we reassigned three different rooms due to various issues. The first room which is literally numbered number one is directly under the kitchen where the staff had been cleaning up until 12 AM running kitchen equipment and banging on the floor. We got no sleep that night. We were then moved to another room which was very quaint but very small. At about 10 o’clock that night there was no hot water for a shower. Then the last two days we moved to a room that had a nice view and was more accommodating, but the majority of the lightbulbs and lamps did not work and the toilet had no pressure. Along with that no hot water for two of the showers that I took.. we talked to others that we’re staying at the hotel and found many of the same issues however, some were pleasantly pleased. As I mentioned, we’re very grateful for the staff for their help and their kindness. Unfortunately, in my opinion, I would feel a little uncomfortable, giving my recommendation to this property until some of the things have been corrected. Thank you so much.

Island View Guesthouse is a little gem! Their dinning area is quite quaint with an impressive panoramic view of East, South and West Charlotte side of the Island. John and Jerome are great Host, and displayed best in class service. Extremely polite and accommodating. They made my stay comfortable. This is not an invention for future guess to take advantage of them. Just know you will have a comfortable stay. I had dinner here one night. Although quite pricey, the the food and service was impressive. My server Jonathan and another female assistant was very attentive in addessing the removal and addition of my courses. Wait till you see how they clean (if needed) your table as you go through your course. I am from; and dine within NYC. Which is the capital of restaurants and fine dinning of the United States. As for the free complimentary breakfast, it's off the hook! This not your typical Holiday Inn/Marriott complimentary breakfast. Beakfast is cooked and not premade and/or preheated. You'll be very pleased. When you consider the price of your stay, the pricey fine dining (blances out should you choose), the amazing view and impressive breakfast is worth it. Island View will be added to my very short list of place to stay when visiting St. Thomas US Virgin Islands. I provided pics so you can get an idea of what you're experience can be.

Although the room was very clean, the bed and pillows ultra comfy, good luck trying to sleep in. Roosters crow around 5 am then the staff shows up around 7 beeping their horns when arriving. Shortly thereafter, a landscaping crew weed whacked and communicated very loudly. It is a lovely view of the island but you overlook the locals neighborhood which is not great. Staff was friendly and helpful, but the made to order breakfast was whatever they were serving that day. Unwalkable to anywhere, you have to call a taxi.

Our room was tinny with the smallest bathroom. She shower head was off to the side of the 2x2 foot shower making it impossible to shower. The plastic shower had a hole in the side. Not even close to worth $400 we paid

This was the perfect location for our plans on the island. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and loved the views from the balcony. We had fresh made breakfast every morning and we’re pleasantly greeted by the resident cat, Shadow, and of course Geraldo too. They were more than accommodating and asked daily if there was anything we needed.

Everyone was so nice and I loved the breakfast they made! It was perfect. And they have a sweet hotel kitty who hangs out. The hot water takes a second but it’s an older building. The property is beautiful though. Didn’t have time to relax in the pool but it looked nice to float in or sit in. Again, everyone was so nice.

When I say, IVGH did not disappoint.We were greeted with cool lavender towels for our face and hands, as well as local island fruit juice. The night receptionist and bell man were so helpful. The complementary continental morning breakfast had the nicest lite island vibe. I was a little disappointed I could not order dinner from the restaurant. Let me be clear, it's not anything they did, it just isn't open Sunday and Monday and we checked in Saturday night. The restaurant gets some amazing reviews and I wanted to try it. Other than that, only 5 stars here!!! The room was clean and cool, the customer service was second to none, the views of Saint Thomas were spectacular and the beds and bedding were sooooo comfortable. You must stay if you are planning a trip to St. Thomas. Please go on a night when the restaurant is open. You won't be disappointed.

The views, cleanliness of the rooms, and proximity to airport and city center (taxis are expensive on this island) make this a good choice. The upkeep of the premises is top notch. Note that the location is on an incredibly steep hill making it difficult to enter and leave the premises which also impacts taxi pickups/drop offs as well as parking is difficult. Not a complaint but something to note if you are elderly and/or limited mobility for any reason.
