"Charming, friendly and very helpful reception staff who were always willing to give advice and offer assistance with travel plans etc. Breakfast staff replenished all breakfast items efficiently. They always greeted everyone on arrival and departure from the restaurant. Another excellent team. The hotel is not as central as some may wish but public transport is very inexpensive and nearby."

"This hotel is an easy walk from the main train station, and is about 10 minutes' walk south of the main attractions of old town Bari. Instead of bottled water, they give you a portable bottle "gift" that you can fill with cold water at a dispenser on each floor. There is also a refrigerator in the room, and an electric grate in front of the window that you can close at night to keep out street noise and light."

"The hotel is conveniently situated a few blocks from the train station, making it easy to travel to near-by towns by Trenitalia. The neighborhood is lackluster and seems to be inhabited by many immigrants. We always felt safe, although the streets are poorly cleaned and maintained. The hotel itself is updated beautifully with good-sized rooms and stylish bathrooms. Cleaning service was daily. We heard no noise from adjacent rooms or from the street. All the staff were very nice and very friendly. The breakfast buffet was adequate but nothing special. The main issues for me were the small, slow elevator and the lack of HOT water. We showered in warmish water each morning, but never had really good hot water from the bath shower heads. For the price, Hotel Moderna was a fairly good option for our first visit to Bari."

"Excellent hotel. Facilities annd room's are really good and very clean. Lovely pool. Good restaurant in hotel but no other options close by. Location is ok but would not walk into town and back of an evening going through the underpass by the station. So taxi both ways. It’s ok during the day but not a pleasant walk."

"Starting this review with the statement saying we had a lovely stay with a priceless view. The following comments are simply to prepare future travelers to level expectations. 1. It is actually 2 bedrooms with a couch/futon in living area. 2. Kitchen not fully equipped for 5 people. Not enough glasses, coffee mugs, no toaster. 3. Beds are not very comfortable especially if one has back issues. 4. There is not a dryer but they have provided a drying rack outside. 5. Bedroom has a tv but not hooked to cable or WiFi. We had invited another couple who had to cancel but that worked out as another adult couple would have not been comfortable. In conclusion my husband and I made some of the deficiencies work but hope the management can give the space some attention or VRBO should change description."
