Our stay at the vine was lovely,
Pros convenient right in the centre,
Loverly friendly staff.
Breakfast was delicious.
Comfortable beds, plenty of towels, tea coffee facilities.
Cons, steep narrow stairs upto the top floor, really squeaky floor boards in the room kept waking others up in the room when getting up to use the bathroom in the night.
Second time I’ve stayed and would definitely visit again.
All perfect, warm and cosy for this winter! they all were really kind 💛 thanks!!

Bathroom had mold on the tiles in the shower. Did not appreciate the door knocking around 8.30 am and the manager stating that the room we were checked into is showing as empty and stating that she would check that we should be in there. Quite bizarre. Disappointing stay
Spacious comfortable room. If you struggle with stairs make sure to try get a ground floor one a the stairs are steep and narrow wirh awkward doors. Car park is good but it's first come first serve and there are no spaces reserved for blue badge users. Staff were very busy last weekend before christmas, which nay account for some short exchanges. Excellent location.
Told breakfast would be around 30 minute wait at 8am, wouldn't accommodate a simple request to have bacon and sausage sandwich to takeaway on 2nd day. I wouldn't stop here again. My last 2 night stay was great with mo issues

Breakfast was hard work, 1st day told it was a 30 minute wait at 8am for a booked and paid for std Breakfast.
2nd day just wanted a simple bacon sausage sandwich in foil to takeaway but wasn't able to accommodate it. Previous visit was great, from this experience 2nd time i will book somewhere else for midweek 2 night stay in Stafford
Staff were very efficient and helpful. Check in process very quick and although we arrived very early there were no issues.
The room was clean and tidy , but due to its age floors and stairs could be a bit creaky. However what would you expect from the oldest pub in Stafford.
Good value and would book again.

The staff we're helpful and friendly and well-meaning. The inn is very traditional and a bit of a maze to get around.
The bedroom was well proportioned and clean, if a little tired. The mattress was a little soft for me, but comfortable enough.
The bathroom left a little to be desired, with standing water stains in the bottom of the bath and around the toilet. There was also a used towel left hanging over the shower rail.
My dinner order didn't go through to the kitchen and by the time we spotted it, the chef had gone home for the evening. The staff were really apologetic, however, and refunded the cost with no fuss and comped me a drink.
All in all, it was fine for a nights stay on business.

Good food, the eveing meal i had a steak and it was brilliant. Overall Great food, amazing staff, really like the place. However with the building being older at night you can hear every step people make above you. So if you are a light sleeper this may be an issue. Although a pub after 2330ish it was generally pretty quiet.

The hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. It is the oldest hotel in Stafford and is a little bit run down. The bar/restaurant is atmospheric and friendly and was busy the weekend that we stayed. The hotel room was comfortable but could do with a bit of an update.
Very old pub. But good quality room, friendly staff, excellent checkin & checkout. Free car park. Food good in the pub area.

Bathroom needed a extensive deep clean throughout, especially the bath. Bed rucked up and on inspection found a waterproof mattress protector, not something expected on an adult bed. However this being moved showed a very stained mattress and on checking the other bed that mattress was also stained.
Staff were pleasant and very helpful, it seemed there was only two ladies most of the time trying to do everything.
Lovely rooms and breakfast was excellent great service. We will definitely stay again

Central location with free parking. Its an old building and rooms ok but limited by age of building, however they were very clean and bed comfortable. Steep stairs not suitable for anyone with limited mobility.
Parking is a farce, 27 rooms only 12 parking spaces. The whole of the outside area is double yellow lines, so if you don’t get a space you have walk a long way to park your car. What makes it worse they have a system that people who work close by can park at The Vine, how stupid is that. The outside of the building is quaint but the inside needs renovating really bad. Suffice to say we won’t be going there again. Oh by the way we paid over a 1000 pounds for 2 weeks, not worth it.
