Great location, nice clean room. Beautiful breakfast with lots of choices. Old historic building very nicely renovated with all amenities you would need. The staff is super nice and accommodating. Highly recommend the hotel for short or long stay.

Great for city break

Very good hotel for a short city break - great location for concerts at Nalen and right by the underground station (2 stops east tide to old town). 10 mins walk from train station. I used the key code for late entry no problem. Excellent breakfast. Great staff. Small rooms for the price, but that’s Stockholm for you.

The stay was very nice, good place for short vacays, near a pedestrian street with shops and restaurants. The Central Station is at 15min away from the hotel. The room was clean, small but cozy.

Room conditions

I truly wanted to give this hotel a glowing review—there were definitely some high points. The location was absolutely fantastic, and the complimentary breakfast exceeded expectations in both quality and variety. However, the room itself left much to be desired. We were aware at the time of booking that the room did not have a window, and we were prepared for that. What we didn’t anticipate was the complete lack of ventilation. There was no airflow at all, which made the room feel stuffy and uncomfortable. While we were inside during the day, we found ourselves having to prop the door open just to get some circulation. Of course, this wasn’t an option at night, when we needed to close the door for safety and privacy. Unfortunately, that meant sleeping in a poorly ventilated, stagnant room—even though the outdoor temperature was a pleasant 70°F. If you're considering staying here, be sure to double-check whether your room has a window or at least adequate ventilation. It made a big difference in our overall comfort and enjoyment of the stay.

Great choice

I read all the one star reviews and I really believe the writers would stay here if visiting again. While the comments about size are true, you can still have a good night sleep. Isn't that what a visitor wants? Two blocks from Coop grocery store, one block from the subway, walking distance from central station. Plenty of food and shopping. Given the price in an otherwise expensive city, it's a great deal. The breakfast is excellent!

The room was very warm. Regardless of how low I set the thermostat, it wouldn’t go below 24 degrees (it felt hotter), and there was no fan. Very uncomfortable. Cramped, but I expected that.

Ok but could be better.

I stayed 2 nights at Birka, one night in a room with window and one night without. The room with the window was nice and comfortable. The room without the window was stuffy and not correctly aerated. I took a shower at roughly 17, went out for dinner and drinks and came back 4 hours later to a very humid and stuffy room. .

Centralt lugnt läge

Centralt läge nära Hötorgets T-station. Rummet stort och lugnt läte. Parallellgata till Sveavägen med i princip ingen störande trafik. Ingen AC på rummet så det blev varmt när utetemperaturen låg på 27-28 grader. Helt OK frukost med bra utbud. Trevlig personal och snabb incheckning.
