"Down East day trip locale perfected! Bring your whole family and rent all three suites. The hosts have accomplished absolute magic in their herculean efforts to make this building a draw for the town. They succeeded wildly, with only a few new-lodging quirks to work out. The design is just enough, with subtle details somehow receding into the character of the moment rather than feeling obvious and cliché. We have been waiting for years to see what might be accomplished here, with not high hopes....

"Our family of 5 had a great stay here. House is exactly as advertised and the lake is beautiful. Kids loved swimming (note you do have to navigate some boulders by the dock), playing on the kayaks and canoe, fishing, and making s’mores by the fire pit. Also loved seeing and listening to the loons (and spotted a bald eagle one afternoon). Supermarket nearby for most grocery needs and also great lobster nearby. "The overall house was very nice. It was very clean, neat and organized. Our two complaints would be the road to the house was very desolate and full of ruts and very large holes. The water coming out of the faucets smelled awful. It had a very high sulfuric odor. It also came out dark gray when the faucet was first turned on. We had to let it run for awhile. The water that was supposed to be filtered tasted terrible. We ended up buying bottled water."

"The property was more than we as two people needed but was close to many areas we were visiting including Acadia NP and surrounding areas including Schoodic Penninsula. The property was clean, functional and had history included. It had all the amenities necessary for a week long stay. We ate out so did not cook in but had all the equipment to cook in. Staying off island had its advantages. A couple possible improvements would be a couple of handles going down the cellar for the washer and dryer...
