9/10. We are a family of four and stayed in the Resolution Room. It was exceptionally clean and very spacious, with two bedrooms and a huge bathroom. A small continental breakfast is provided in the room, including a pastry, cookies, yogurt, a selection of cereals, apples, juice, and milk. Nothing particularly special, which is why I rated it 9/10 rather than 10/10, but it was included in the very reasonable room rate and, as we are not big breakfast eaters, it suited us perfectly. Stayed here twice on a recent visit to Yorkshire. Property is clean and central. We loved the bar down stairs and the close proximity to everything in town. Also loved that it is historical and the river Leven is a must see behind hotel. Beautiful place. Enjoyed this special town and hotel.

Beautiful setting, quiet and relaxing

We really loved this hotel. Our room (The Admiral's Room) was fantastic - nice bathroom - and very clean. Staff were OK, but service was a little slow. Breakfast was good. Grounds were beautiful, although it would have been nice to have a trail to walk in the summer.

Very clean and excellent service, however the breakfast needs improvement. They should add a little protein instead of cans all through.

What a lovely inn! Our room was big and bright and we popped open a window for a little breeze while sleeping. The bathroom was recently redone and very nice. All the meals, including take away sandwiches for lunch, were fabulous and the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful! Highly recommend!

Bar was great but the lack of freshly prepared food for the breakfast and dinner menus (everything was directly from a package)

Wondeful stay

Excellent breakfast. Great location for walking to the town. Room and bathroom very clean. Staff made us feel very welcome. Dinner was very tasty and beer was most enjoyable.
