"We stayed in the front room with two twins. the room was very clean and moderately spacious. The host, John, was very friendly and accommodating. He makes a delicious breakfast. No elevator, but John accommodated us with a lower-floor room. We will consider staying again when in Southampton. "

"A late check-in was no problem, this was much appreciated! The room was compact and cosy, bed was fine. En-suite bathroom good, shower OK, easy to operate. TV mounted in a great position to watch in bed. The property and surrounding area was quiet at night, slept easy with the window open. A fan was provided but was rattling and very noisy so I did not use it in the end. Hunters Lodge was an ideal choice for a 1-night stay. Didn't get to try the breakfast but I might next time - I have another...

"Self service so expected some instructions - couldnt get tv to work. Coffee, tea n sugar provided - no milk. Kettle supplied on shelf - no plug nearby. Low light - difficult to read. However good location, warn and clean - also cheap. :)"

"The hotel was exceptional. Location was fantastic - very near to bus stop, walking distance to the beach, a convenience store is nearby, there is a lovely restaurant within walking distance. The hotel itself was absolutely lovely - clean, cosy, comfortable. Just perfect. Wendy & Steve was the best. Would definitely come back. If anything, just one thing to be aware of - you need to up one flight of stairs to get to the bedrooms."
