"Historic hotel with some modern attributes. The room (6) was spacious with a good king size bed, but was directly over the kitchens and, with the windows open during summer, there was a fair amount of noise. Since it was a weekend, there were weddings on so the catering staff were working late. The following morning after breakfast we did find the toilets downstairs had been left in a pretty filthy state by the wedding guests, so the cleaners had not yet started their work. "Comfortable room with excellent tea making supplies - and a good sized mug each! The floor fan was useful as it was very warm. The hotel kindly allowed a later check out with a prompt and polite response to our request. Check in was efficient and simple. The evening meal was superb - great value and the pavlova! Wow! Chef’s kiss! All in all - a beautiful historic building and a really enjoyable stay. We will return I am sure. "
