During our Thursday night visit in April 2026, Claire and Chris created an immediate sense of ease, welcoming us with tea and friendly conversation about New Zealand. Practical touches stood out, particularly the convenient free parking at the nearby marina and the ability to unload outside — a real bonus in Brixham’s steep, narrow streets. The room, though compact, was cosy and thoughtfully arranged, with a very comfortable bed and a peaceful atmosphere despite the central location. The shower was excellent — warm and powerful — perfect after time spent by the sea. Breakfast was a highlight, clearly prepared with care and experience. Well-cooked and beautifully presented, it elevated the stay beyond expectations. Just a five-minute walk from the harbour, the guest house strikes a perfect balance between accessibility and tranquillity. Visiting in April meant fewer crowds and sunny spring weather, adding to the relaxed charm. Overall, Sea Tang is a standout choice for a coastal escape, offering comfort, thoughtful details and exceptional value — a place we would happily return to."

"We were a little concerned about the cleanliness of this property before we booked due to previous reviews but we contacted the company and were reassured all was in hand. This indeed was the case as the cleanliness was more than adequate. The view from the living area is amazing and light with triple aspect 2nd to none. The 3 of us were very comfortable, great beds and bedding and towels of a good quality. The location of the property is fantastic - you couldn’t get better! There was no visitor book so couldn’t leave any tips which was a shame. Overall lovely property."

"Despite the complex instructions to find the cottage, it was fairly easy. (A quick look beforehand on Google Street View helped!) Found it best to park the car first in the Freshwater car park as you exit the harbour up the hill. This is a long stay car park costing approx. (August 2024) £10 for 24hrs. It's worth buying a permit for the week as it is valid in other car parks in the whole of Torbay too for when you trip out. It's an easy flat walk from here (and you may get a glimpse of seals close to shore) back to the harbour and the cottage is accessed via a flight of steps on the street corner. It's a charming, tiny cottage with everything you need, including wifi. A word of caution - the stairs are tricky and the door frames very low! I sliced some skin off the top of my head on one of them! As the stairs are spiral, it's best to come down the last steps backward, like a ladder. The first floor contains the bedrooms and bathroom. The top floor is the living space with an amazing view of the harbour but again be careful when taking up cups of tea due to the stairs. Having said that, we soon got the hang of it! All in all, it's an excellent home-from-home with plenty of nearby places to eat and shop, including supermarkets."

"The rooms were freezing and when we informed the manager we were told that the heating was broken. It was about 3 degrees outside that night and they didn’t even attempt to give us an electric heater or anything."

"We came to Brixham with my husband’s family to celebrate his 40th birthday, we chose Admirals because we needed 4 bedrooms, to be close to the town and a place which allowed dogs. The photos were beautiful on the website and we were looking forward to our stay. We were faced with issues straight away really.The fridge was broken and spoiled our food, we’d spent over 100 on food for the week which had to be thrown away. A replacement fridge was dropped off to the neighbour and we had to collect it ourselves, not something you want to be doing on your holidays!The dishwasher didn’t always work first time and so we had to wait hours for a cycle. Appliances should be tested before guests arrive.Housekeeping needs to be improved. The cottage needs a deep clean - especially carpets and the bathroom. I had to buy cleaning products and bleach the bath mat before I let my daughter have a shower, it was full of mould. When we alerted luxury coastal of these issues, they were unaware, although, the previous guest had left a bad review which included the same problems as we endured.The cottage itself is nice, the bedrooms were lovely, beds comfy, plenty of cupboard space, but housekeeping lets it down. "Great little find. All you need in a room plus all the extras being available if needed. View is lovely - straight out on the harbour and able to watch the boats etc. Easy walk into town and off round the headland. Parking wasn’t easy but ok - would be harder in high season but there are car parks. Lots to do in the area too."
