Stayed for 2 nights on bed & breakfast rate. Rooms clean , beds very comfortable, bath & shower both available. Tea, coffee making facilities and biscuits available in room which is always a nice touch. A fresh cooked breakfast to order , which was delicious & piping hot , as was the pot of coffee that was served. Staff are the most pleasant and helpful any time we have visited hence would definitely recommend and would stay again !

It’s always a joy staying in the North West Castle. The rooms are really big and the staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. The only downside was that during the heatwave, the room had become quite warm.

The Northwest Castle is a very out dated hotel, needs to update especially the rooms. We stayed in a bungalow which surprised me as I thought we were staying in the hotel. The staff are lovely , very helpful and very friendly. The food is average. For £121 per night b&b I would expect better. Bathrooms old with deep bath and poor shower above the bath. Stayed a couple of times the first time being in the hotel. Wouldn't stay again unless guaranteed a hotel stay and a modern room. Shame!

We had a great stay at NW Castle, it suit us perfectly as the kids were well entertained with the games room and pool. Our room was recently renovated and this was hugely welcomed as I had been expecting a tired decor. The hotel is full of charm and that added to the unique experience. All staff were fabulous and helpful. We will likely return for our next trip to Stranraer, thank you to the team.

We loved our stay. Our room looked recently refurbished and it was a great bonus to have a separate 'half' of our large room for our teenage sons. The pool etc were a great addition, we enjoyed the games room and the wood panelled bar. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and the waiting staff friendly and polite. We found the hotel to be great value for money (we had a family room with four single beds, booked as on a B&B basis) Hotel is very convenient for town and the ferry port. (If eating in town, Landos has great food but seems really badly organised with long waiting times, and how can a restaurant serving pizza run out of dough?!). The hotel is a bit tired in places (paint flaking above lighting on thd stairwell and threadbare carpet in places) but that added to its charm. I'd not hesitate to come again.
