As an EV owner, I really appreciate the availability of using the Lodge's charger at the end of a long drive. Location by the lake is wonderful. Rooms are comfortable, restaurant is good and staff are very helpful. Hopefully, the new accommodation being built now will have better climate control (cooling as well as heating) and soundproofing than the old rooms.

Location of Pedder Wilderness Retreat is absolutely stunning - albeit totally isolated. Rooms are very basic with limited insulation between rooms. Family houses are much more user friendly. The bar and restaurant was excellent - great food, coffee and wine selection to make for a great stay! Staff were also incredibly efficient and hard working.

The Lodge allows access to some of Tasmania's best wilderness, despite the fact that the Hydro have destroyed much of it in the past. As recycled staff accommodation, there is no soundproofing between rooms, so hope for quiet neighbours

1 1/4hr in from main road, same way out to remote location. Stunning views across the lake from the restaurant. Rooms very basic and not sound proofed. Staff very exceptional despite being overworked. Accommodated a room change with zero fuss or expense. Cute gift shop. Minutes to Gordon Dam with views of Pedder Lake’s stunning glass finish. Would recommend for price and location.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. our room was Very luxurious looking. Bed was extremely comfortable. On closer inspection cleaning staff missing small items like mark/stain on carpet. Same on bed cushions which was of more concern. Bathroom was enormous but it lacked sufficient bench space for toiletries etc. Overall great rooms if ours was a little noisy as we were next to an entrance Would definitely recommend

A little gem

A nice surprise. Staff are excellent. Professional. Friendly. Courteous . The current building works do not disrupt. The staff members appear to multi task. Reception, bar, restaurant, house keeping. The dining/bar/lounge space is warm and friendly and huge. Wood burner is always going. Restaurant serves remarkably good food allbeit a short menu as 50% of selection are burgers and 25% parmies. But its all well prepared and efficiently produced. Often one or two daily specials. Bedrooms are fine. Bedding is comfortable. Actual rooms are dated and probably 3 star motel grade. Bathrooms pretty good and appear to have had a makeover.

This property is stunning, the rooms are beautifully appointed, the staff are friendly, the dinning room are bar area are great for relaxing with good food options and the view and scenery around the lake are unbelievably good.

Werkssiedlung in der Wilderness

Die Lodge hat wenig mit dem Nationalpark zu tun, sondern ist die ehemalige Werkssiedlung für den Bau des Wasserkraftwerks. Insofern kann man ausser Besichtigung der Staudämme und weniger Spaziergänge nicht viel in der Umgebung unternehmen, da der Nationalpark dort nicht sehr zugänglich ist. Wer das möchte, muss mindestens 50-70 km fahren. Die Basic-Zimmer sind sehr einfach, aber sauber und funktional. Sie sind sehr hellhörig, insb. bez. Dusche und WC. Ausserdem waren während unseres Aufenthalt Bauarbeiten, teilweise ab 6:45 erheblicher Lärm. Lichtblick ist das Restaurant mit Bar und Seeblick. Das Essen war sehr gut, auch der Service dort. WLAN wurde angeboten, war allerdings recht schmalbandig.
