Cottage #1 - Quaint, clean, comfortable cottage just 20 miles from Key West. Located on the oceanfront. Cottage offers a full kitchen, screened patio, a single bedroom with a queen bed. A few steps in either direction bring you to sparkling water. This cottages is situated on the waterfront, but only steps away from our pool. The dock, seawalls are all available to our guests. A coin laundry is also available on site. Whether you come to the Florida Keys to escape the winters, or enjoy the calm waters and great fishing and diving of the summers, you will find Cudjoe Cottages to be your Home Away From Home.

Quiet paradise

This is a great place to stay if you’re looking for a quiet home base for your vacation. Key West is a quick drive away and we found lots of fun activities and great food locally.

Awesome location

Cottage 1 was right by the water. A walk down a long path to a dock was a nightly trip to watch the sunset. Located between Marathon Key and Key West was perfect for restaurants and stores without the crowding from tourists. About 20-30 minutes to Key West

Cute cottage, perfect for a couples getaway.

This is a little quaint cottage excellent for a couples getaway. About 20 mins to Key West. We loved the big patio and the dock through the mangroves. We didn’t cook but ate at the Broil Steakhouse literally across the street two nights for dinner. Great property and a fun little cottage. They have houses, duplexes, a house with a pool and a shared pool. Overall would definitely recommend and will be back in the future.

Lovely place and good location

We enjoyed our 5 night stay. The accommodation was good and it was okay driving distance to Key West and state parks, and short drive to several good restaurants. There is also a nice walking path on the other side of the Overseas Highway. It was nice to be near the water in Cabin 1.

Short Stay - Weather Affected - But Very Happy!

Arrival and check in was easy. Property was clean and easy to find. We only stayed one night due to the pending weather (Hurricane Milton). Mega Cudos and Appreciation to the Host as our trip was fully refunded! We are planning to return in 2025.

We brought our boat. Dropped it in at nearby marina. Free docking at cottage. Just watch your tides. This a a great location…incredible restaurants nearby and an easy hop to Key West. We have been here before and will do it again.

Cudjoe Cottage

We enjoyed our 1st stay on Cudjoe. We have previously stayed in Key West, Islamorada and Tavernier. We were very comfortable in the old style Florida cottage. WiFi, AC, screened porch and waterfront location were major contributors to our enjoyment. Easy access to Key West and Big Pine were major bonuses. A missing shower tile and a bare electrical box (porch - ceiling) were the only minor issues of note.

Older property. Could use some cosmetic updates. It was clean and just steps away from the water! Pool was nice and clean. There was a major accident on US1 so we couldnt get to Key West our last day. We plan to stay there again.

It got the job done

The bungalow was the perfect size for a couple. Like many reviews state, it requires some repairs and updates. For instance, the blinds were broken in many places. We also had trouble with pests while staying there because the back door didn’t close properly. Despite that, the house had everything we needed for our stay and the host was responsive.

Beautiful view….love the dock.

Fishing on the dock….Gorgeous view….great fishing…catch Mahi 😀 Great boat trailer parking 20’ boat. You can put your boat in right there in the water or Jet ski. Step out your door, jump on the boat. Boat dock just a few miles away. Wasn't to busy on Labor Day 2024. There is a lovely pool there and a community washer and dryer. Nice tiki bar and restaurant maybe a mile away. The cottage is dated but clean. Wi-Fi is great and a/c works great. We will definitely be back.

A majority of the outside seating was broken. There were quite a few repairs that could be made to the inside and outside of the house, that would be somewhat easy. ,,that could make a huge difference. They are the same from 2 years ago. Perhaps the owner should take a visit. Otherwise great location and even though small great for what we require.

Ideal stay for 2 with boat/jetski

The cottage itself was very clean when we walked in, smelled like a hotel room. It had all the essential things: a place to cook, a place to shower, a place to sleep and relax. Yes the cottage could use some renovation, but it was comfortable and functional. We were pleased to find a jetski dock, which allowed us to keep the jetski in the dock all week instead of taking it out every day. There is a hose that reaches it for washing. The main thing that bothered us was the smell of the water in the dock at low tide, which was pretty bad. Other than that, we had a wonderful week here and we would most likely come back.

Cudjoe Stay

The property location was great for us. It was so nice to wake up and see the water just outside your door and lots of iguanas roaming around. We enjoyed the pool and everyone staying in the other units were nice and friendly. The bungalow was cute and clean but the unit itself was in need of quite a few repairs. It was said to include a boat slip but upon checking in we found out that the slips were first come first serve and there were only 5-6 slips for nearly 8-12 units. That was a little frustrating as we had to “create” our own dockage back up in a mangrove…. But we made it work. That could’ve been a big issue had there been more tenants with boats on the days we were there so that’s the biggest thing I’d check out the next time.

Key West Get Away :-(

We realize that in the Keys everything is location... location... location. And with this property that is the primary value. It's location gives you access to Key West but away from the hustle and bustle. It is also located right next to a small inlet. The property is small but a good size for a couple. While we enjoyed our stay in the Keys this property is in need of some serious TLC. These are just a few items we found during out stay. - We cooked most of our meals at the property. The pots, pans, dishes, etc... were of random variety. While that is typically no big deal it would have been nice if the lids actually fit the pans/pots. - Missing kitchen cabinet drawers - Step up going into the kitchen had broken tile along the edge which had duct tape across it. - Tile was missing at the entrance of the shower. - Listing says "gas grill" available. Gas grill was on location but no propane tank and previous guest had used charcoal in it making it unusable. - Listing says kayaks are available. No kayaks were on property. - All the chairs on the "dock" of the inlet were broken. - Blinds in the bedroom had several slats broken/missing. Used a extra blanket to hang over the window. - No door on from bedroom to main room. No big deal if you go to bed together or get up at the same time. - Missing ceiling fan on the porch with open wiring. Other fan has seen better days. There is more but I have used up all the characters... Location... Location... Location...

Yes you are on the ocean, yes there are docks, and yes you are centrally located for activities. Cottage was clean but very dated and not well kept. It is not private, we had people walking and driving in and around us throughout the day. We did bring a dog, which is why we liked the private description, but it was not and he spent a lot of time barking when we were there. Duct tape around windows and doors, note saying you cant turn the AC below 75. I live in Wisconsin and keep mine cooler than that! The pools were located in such a way as I felt rude using them. Grill, is a little propane weber fold up, not really what you expect. Definitely could use some upgrades and better description.
