"The castle is amazing, such a wonderful place to stay. Alex in the bar provided excellent service both to me and all other visitors making their experience a joy. I would definitely recommend, the restaurant staff need to bring the same level of care and service as the bar, being on my own they didn’t think about where best to sit me in the restaurant and seemed annoyed when I wasn’t ready to order. Just small things make the difference to an experience. Overall wonderful and so much history to absorb"

"Reception staff were lovely, especially the lady who checked us in. The food was okay (wouldn’t eat here again though) and the room was really comfortable, lovely bed. However the bathroom was very dated and not that clean. We were here for an event so just needed somewhere to sleep and this was perfect for what we needed, definitely could do with modernising though for a 4 star hotel; especially the bathrooms."

"Excellent hotel and bar and breakfast Lovely. However not sure why you allow dogs in the restaurant and breakfast area . Acouple next to me on a table were feeding their sausage dog under the table, spoilt my own breakfast somewhat. There was even a great dane in the bar the previous evening."
