"The price of the room per night was more affordable than I expected for an high-end hotel. Optimal location for easy walking access to major cultural locations in the downtown area. Love that there was a restaurant and cafe onsite. And the staff were some of the kindness and most helpful I’ve experienced at a hotel. Would definitely consider booking here again for a future trip. "

"For the past 15 years that I travel to Southern California, I always stay at the Doubletree downtown Los Angeles. The property has comfortable rooms, and it’s close to everything that I do business with. But above all the staff here is amazing, Front desk staff go above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and pleasant for my staff and I. Diana from front desk has been amazing from day one. She is the reason why my staff and I always returned to this hotel. There are many hotels in the area, but only one Diana. In the past, I’ve spoken to different supervisors and managers praising her for the amazing work that she does for this hotel. I hope management and corporate office reads this review. Alejandra from Night Shift is also amazing, making sure our needs to wear met. The morning kitchen staff are the best. Marcos has always greeted me by my name and I was exactly what I want. Makes me feel like if I’m with Family every time I have breakfast here. "

"Stay was great"

"The room was clean but the shower experience left me feeling frustrated. Awful water pressure and the shower head seemed like it would pop off at any moment. The room was really cold even with the heat turned on. The view was breathtaking and the staff is wonderful. Lots to do and see within walking distance including many restaurants and shops. Horrible noise outside most of the time in the hotel room. I should have brought earplugs and it’s not really the hotels fault. Sometimes there’s noise and you have to deal with it. Overall I would definitely recommend staying here although I don’t know if I would again in the future. I didn’t get a chance to try the Openaire eatery or the pool. The gym was really really nice! Great view and the gym equipment was really unique and easy to use! "

"Really cute hotel. Friendly and attentive staff, clean, not too noisy, plenty of areas to hang out and the pool was a nice addition. The rooms are a bit dated and the hallway rug should probably be replaced since it folds up and the pool furniture looks like was falling apart. Coffee place wasn’t open the entire stay, which was 4 days. Apparently there was an issue, not certain what it was.It would be great if they could lower the price of parking, another very comparable hotel was only $20 nightly and this one was $60 per night. However we did get a great nightly rate for the room so there’s only so much you can expect for that."

"Perfect location for traditional touristy activities, staff are lovely and property is clean. Noticed lots of stores have closed down since we were there 2 years ago, also the streets are looking worse for wear - if you can look past that and appreciate where you are, nothing beats this hotel. "

"Staff were wonderful, and I have no complaints there. However, the hotel feels very outdated for the price. Additionally, the pool was closed and this was not mentioned at the time of booking. The “hills view” upgrade was definitely not worth it. The window was very dirty, or there may have been a film on the glass that made the view look blurry. There also was not much of a hills view to begin with, especially for the price. The TV was also outdated with no option to stream, which felt disappointing given the cost of the stay."
