The Knoll House

8/10 Good

"Nice room with balcony and distant sea view. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to enjoy some of the facilities on offer. Bathroom was pretty good with a shower over the bath. Controls were a little stiff and difficult, not at all intuitive to use but there was plenty of hot water. Bed was on the hard side but comfortable enough. My only complaint would be the distance between the bed and the wall making it difficult to get out, particularly at night. Not helped by the large picture hanging right where you need to walk, very easy to knock as you squeeze past in the dark. Dinner was a set menu and was quite good but with limited choice made even more limited on a Sunday if you did not wish to have a roast, two of the five options, fortunately we did. Breakfast was a very good hot buffet. We were certainly set up for the day. Would I stay again? Probably, yes."

"Good family room. Ac was working fine. No minibar fridge in room. Asked room service to clean the room after 2 night stay and went out but it was untouched when I came back. Breakfast was ok. Pool was good. But spa facilities busy most of the time. Reception staff were very helpful. Overall good stay."

"Stayed for one night over the weekend. The staff were helpful and attentive and the hotel is in a fabulous location which is reflected in the price, however probably once a prestigious high end hotel in its time, the property now appears tired and unloved. Having paid for breakfast in the price of the room we felt let down by the standard provided. Expectations were for a fresh hot cooked breakfast, however it was a self-service buffet style, full of choice but all served cold. We had expected tea and coffee table service yet this was also self service from a machine."

"Location perfect for Beach, town and Quay. Train station. Staff very helpful and pleasant Room basic, however, it had everything we needed and clean. Bathroom, Shower, bed, wardrobe, kettle with tea, coffee, biscuits etc. Food and bar was available if required. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended our stay. Would return."
