Dishwasher did not work, no balcony as advertised. No mention of works on George Street, continuous noise. Also kitchen amenities were mediocre, no serving spoons, only one teaspoon and the microwave was faulty. We did specify that we wanted someone to check that the appliances worked. The washing machine needed cleaning which we did....

受付がなく、清掃もない、あと場所がわかりにくくて困りました。 部屋自体は広くてキッチンもあってまあ、良かったですが、トイレットペーパーの補充もなく困りました。 またゴミ出しも自分達でしなくてはいけなかったのですが、出し方がイマイチわからなかった。 その割に宿泊料金が高いと思う。

Great Spot but...

Location, location, location they say. Certainly Astra had that, it's a fantastic spot, but unfortunately other aspects - most notably the cleanliness, left a lot to be desired. We were surprised to find, when we arrived, that some of the linen was quite dirty, while there were only two (fairly small) towels, which forced us to go out the following morning and buy some of our own! The carpet was quite dirty while the balcony railing was so dusty, I wound up having to rewash clothes I had hung outside to dry, because I accidentally brushed the rail when I was bringing them in - which served to dirty them again! I was only hanging them outside because when I first used the dryer, the filter popped out, spreading lint all over the floor (which might explain why the carpet was pretty dirty when we arrived!). I used the dryer again a couple more times during our stay, and the filter popped out again each time. The ordinary maintenance of the apartment was a pity, because it is well equipped (washing machine, dish washer, dryer etc), and is in a great spot. Haymarket is one of Sydney's gems, with the apartment's location enhanced further by the addition of the new light rail, whose Chinatown stop is virtually right out the front door of the building. This was especially handy getting out to the SCG, Randwick racecourse and Circular Quay, all of which are on that line. For all that, if you are going to consider staying, go in prepared. That way you won't be disappointed.
