The property was in a convenient, prime area, close to many great and delicious restaurants and Asian cuisine. My daughter and I, loved the fact that the hotel is located just steps away from the major mall that we needed to go to, on the last day in Sydney, to get out souvenirs and things, before out flight back home. The only disadvantage, was that the trouble it was to be dropped off and picked up this hotel. There no direct parking in front or near the hotel, which was a major inconvenience. And it was a real headache. Other than that, this was the only downside.

Hotel is very close to trains, buses and light rail. Close to food stores. Checkin was excellent and we were allowed in before 2pm. Luggage storage after checkout very good. The continental breakfast was excellent, great variety, good juices and pancakes. Very comfortable bed and very quiet room. Great happy hour prices at front bar. Excellent stay. Recommended.

I tried to cancel my two night booking two weeks before my intended stay and received no confirmation. I then received notification that I was a no show. On two previous occasions I had complained about the state of the bathroom due to mould. Both times I took photos and used a rag to remove the mould. The first time I showed it to one of the receptionists and the second time I showed them to the duty manager. The manager offered a free breakfast but we had to decline as we were on the way to the airport. After the second time I tried to cancel my booking as stated above. I have stayed at the Great Southern several times previously and although it is an older hotel I have always enjoyed the atmosphere. Clearly it is a management resonsibility to set the standards and ensure that cleaning protocols are followed. Not happy at all Tony van Maanenberg
