The penzie ( an affectionate abbreviation) or aka the penshurst hotel . Friendly staff , good food and beverages . Reasonable prices clean & modern rooms and conveniently located close to railway station. I will be back .

Could highly recommend the accomadation at Hotel Penshurst. The room was very clean, comfortable bed, roomy, nice clean and roomy bathroom. No noise could be heard at night. Close to transport and dinning restaurants close by. The meals at the hotel are excellent. Thourghly enjoyed our stay. Thank you Greg & Annette Porter

Both the bedroom and bathroom had plenty of space and the staff were friendly and helpful. There was a bit of a stale smell in the bedroom and both the bedroom and bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. however overall the room was good value for the price.

The staff members were very friendly and helpful. It is quite affordable and has good facilities. The only thing I would point out is cleanliness was very pool, I stayed in room 1 and it was very dusty to the point where the dust had built around the carpet and it was impacting my breathing at night. The duvet was mouldy and just nasty. Other than that other areas were good and clean.

Pros: Clean, restaurants nearby, modern-ish room (if not for the items below I would have given 4 stars) Cons: Open shower area so bathroom floor is wet for hours, parking lot locked until 10am so you have to park on the street if leaving before 10, heating/a/c unit buzzed very loudly about every 2 minutes (but got a bit better later), long check-in (could do pre-checkin process, but why would I upload a pic of my passport onto the internet to do a pre-checkin process?), smoke smell if entering through the bar or casino area.

The room and toilet stunk of 2nd hand smoke. The smoke detector was wrapped in plastic bag banded together with a lucky band. I was choking in left over fumes and resorted to sleep with the room windows up. I spoke with the staff and was told this will be brought to the managers attention. No actions were taken. Arrived after 2pm to check in was told WiFi was down so they couldn't process payment and we would have to wait till whenever the WiFi came back up. I asked to speak to manager explained I had been up for over 24hours been to funeral and needed some sleep as need to meet family in a few hours was told nothing could be done I continued to advise not good enough. Another couple checking I told them to just let us up eventually they agreed went back down a few hours later and found payment had gone through Rebecca was very helpful as for theanagwr terrible service no hospitality skills do not stay here

The room was very spacious and clean and the bed was very comfy. Bathroom was large but nowhere to put toiletries. We stayed on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday. After going to bed on the first night, after about 10 minutes there was a loud burring sound which lasted about 10 seconds. This kept happening about every 2 minutes. After trying various things we found it was coming from the air conditioner. Hubby reported it that night around 10.45. We were told we could not change rooms as they were fully booked but it would be reported and fixed the next day. We had to turn off air con resulting in a very uncomfortable sleep as it was so hot. On the Friday we asked about 4 different staff members if it would be fixed but were only told that it had been reported and that was after they checked on the computer to confirm this. Friday night the same thing happened so it was another very bad night. Asked the staff again and it was the same answer. Asked who the manager was and was told it was Monica. Saturday evening when we returned after being out all day "John" told us that it had not been looked at and that Monica did not work on week-ends. Why did she not attend to it on Friday morning then. Another bad night with the heat on Saturday meaning 3 nights in a row leaving us totally exhausted with a 4 hour drive back to where we live. "John" suggested that we request some sort of refund. If this is not the place to do this, please advise. We must be due for something
