Bathrooms were shared as it provided a traditional Japanese experience but as someone who would generally avoid a shared bathroom this was more part of the experience than a drawback. The room sport traditional Japanese tatami and shoji coupled with comfortable futon beds that will lull you into some of the sweetest slumbers.
