Negatives first - this hotel is abit out the way, so if you plan on going, it might be worth more than a day trip/more than one night stay. The arcad/entertainment rooms are very dated and could use some investment. Maybe opt for a lake view, we chose Fuji but as it was cloudy it wasnāt the best view in the world. Thatās it....
Positives - shuttle bus service from the train/bus station is fantastic. Check in was smooth and easy, the room was beautiful (room 807), dinner was clearly lovingly...

A unique experience! Comfortable, very clean, and the staff were very hospitable. The onsen were very relaxing. Most notable was the foodāabsolutely stunning presentation and very interesting (we are new to Japanese food). The ryokan is on the quieter side of town but itās still possible to walk to the attractions, especially on the path beside the lake.

We absolutely loved Yamate Inn. The staff was very friendly, the room was decent, and itās in a great location; lots of neat places along the street on which it lies. If we return to Kofu (likely) we will definitely seek it out again.

This was my first time staying at a Dormy Inn, and as expected from its reputation, it was a very comfortable stay. The front desk staff provided great service, and I really enjoyed the thoughtful little touches, including the complimentary Yonaki Soba (late-night noodles). I was especially pleasantly surprised by how delicious the welcome grape juice was. Although it is a bit of a walk from the JR station, it is definitely a hotel I would recommend.

It was a peaceful stay. Check-in/check-out is done by tablet and was easy to understand. It was nice having a microwave in the room. I thought it would be scary to have a room open right to the outdoors, but it was convenient for coming and going quickly. There are snacks available, and the rooftop terrace is nice (beware of bugs like mosquitoes, though). The bed was comfortable. The TV is one of those with Netflix, Abema, YouTube, but no regular TV stations...? I couldn't find any regular...
