Amazing huge room with wonderful views, really comfy bed, clean bright modern bathroom. Extremely lovely stay at The Castle overall. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the parking is right outside, and breakfast was chilled and relaxed with plenty of eating options. Can't wait to stay again!

For that special break, this Hotel definitely has the edge. The wedding we attended was very well managed by the staff at the Hotel.
In a single room it didn’t feel I was treated the same as friends and family staying in double or family rooms. It was clean and adequate but not special.
Breakfast buffet bacon and eggs first morning was not hot but there are freshly cooked alternatives. Evening menu was limited and not great although the hotel seemed half empty so I think the main restaurant was not open.
Staff were generally very pleasant and helpful although one waitress spilled milk on my table said sorry but made no attempt to clear it up. Small things that leave an impression.
Overall a nice historic hotel and very convenient location let down by small issues.
The vegan breakfast options were extensive, the staff were so helpful and kind to us. The room was super clean and the building itself felt magical. We ended up walking around the area and finding nice shops and cafe's as well as the market on Saturday.
The hotel was wonderful. It is clear that the 17th-century historic building is being maintained with great care and affection. The room was spotlessly clean, and I was able to spend a very comfortable time. The quality of the meals served at the restaurant was also extremely high, and I was very satisfied. I couldn't visit the adjacent Somerset Museum as it was closed, but I look forward to seeing it on my next visit.
Hotel is near to everything and really nice restaurants and pubs. Easy parking. Nice check in staff. Room was clean and spacious. Lovely hotel full of character.
I stayed here while excessively jet lagged and booked the Mendip suite for extra comfort. The hotel was very comfortable and very well appointed. The staff were friendly and courteous, the bathroom spacious and clean, and the breakfast was superb (especially nice to see Black Pudding on the menu!). Would very much recommend for anyone looking to spend a night or two in the charming town of Taunton. For anyone looking for a decent pub nearby, the Ring of Bells was excellent.
The shared parts of the hotel are lovely but the rooms, especially the bathrooms, are a little dated and lack amenities commensurate with the cost. The breakfast should be included in the price.
Beautiful hotel. Historic and stylish. Staff were lovely and incredibly friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, Taunton was very loud and noisy for a Tuesday night!
An excellent stay to attend a family celebration. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very comfortable and clean. Hope to return sometime.
Needed to stay in Taunton and this was a great option. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold food. Would stay here again!
Fantastic building! Perfect location.
Staff are so friendly and helpful.
Just some rooms are in need of a little TLC so it depends which of the rooms you stay in. The room we stayed in just needed updating but the bed was so comfortable and a very good night sleep was had!!
Lovely comfortable hotel with parking right in town centre. All hotels now charge for their parking so I expected this. Staff were very friendly and yet professional. Room very comfortable and breakfast was excellent.
