"While the room was small, it was a good price point and totally suitable for a short stay as a solo traveller! Clean and decently maintained, with really helpful front-desk staff"

"I was born and raised in Wellington but haven’t lived there in 22 years. I know the city well and perhaps I’m biased because I grew up a few blocks away. However, I cannot stress this enough, this hotel is in the best location. It is a true gem among chain-affiliated hotels with all the charm of an operating room. The interiors are beautiful: industrial manor-loft vibes. High ceilings, antique furniture mixed with modern pieces, dark green tiled bathrooms, and an extremely comfortable bed. Snacks: 5/5 (although my friends complained that the Freddo Frogs weren’t the caramel variety. Shower pressure: 5/5 Bathroom products: 5/5 Pillows: 5/5 Wool blankets: unmatched IYKYK The huge TV has every streaming app imaginable. I used it once, to watch Cool Runnings. Each floor has sparkling and still water on tap, morning coffee, and there’s a 24/7 guest laundry. The staff are genuinely lovely and the place is immaculate. Puffin, the beautiful bar tucked in back, makes perfect cocktails. No one outwardly judged me for arriving at opening and slamming 3+ within an hour (shout out Ella). Not that I care. I’ve accepted I’m simply that person. Guests get access to an excellent gym around the corner. Given the aforementioned bar, I did not visit once in two weeks. I can’t wait until my parents’ health declines further so I can return to Wellington and stay here again. Highly recommended by this author. Do not stay anywhere else."

"Fabulous hotel in the middle of Wellington. Rooms are spotless, beds comfortable and close to everything. Secure parking across the road … but remember to park on the correct level. (I didn’t and got a ticket. My own fault for not following the detailed instructions provided by hotel staff … who are great!)"
