About this property
RELAX OFF THE BEATEN PATH!
This is one of the very few nightly rentals that provides an automatic backup generator in the event of power outage to south Brewster County.
Bring your camera and get ready to relax! Drive or Fly-in! The choice is yours.
We take great pains to insure that our facility is sanitized and disinfected as much as possible between visiting guests.
This is a 107 acre property full of wildlife, cactus, birds and hiking. This is a NON-smoking and No Pet rental. There is a $250 fee for violation of either of these policies. This property is accessible by car (the last 3 miles is a well maintained gravel road). The RV is a 34' 2018 Jayco Eagle Series bumper pull with two queen beds. This RV is equipped with huge flat screen TV, wifi, bluetooth stereo, double-door refrig/freezer, oven, range, outdoor gas grill, a gas griddle and a wood fired barbque pit with mesquite provided. This also comes equipped with 2 factory A/Cs and central heat, coffee pot with timer and a counter top icemaker. You will also find on-site a large charcoal/wood bar-b-q pit and lots of mesquite wood to cook with.
Also at the disposal of the customer is a 10'x 45' covered wooden deck with chairs and a ceiling mounted mister system for hot summer days. Beautiful views of Bell Mountain, White Horse Mtn and the Christmas Mtns can all be seen from this vantage point, none more than a mile and a half from the porch. This deck is also equipped with five 8' roll down screens for additional comfort from extreme heat. Of course there is a propane gas fire pit and a Chiminea with ample pinion pine firewood for cold winter days and nights. Enjoy the viewing of scaled quail, eurasian and white winged doves, mule deer, javelina, fox, coyote, ravens and red-tailed hawks. Blackbear, mountain lions and bobcats have also been seen close to the house. Absolutely no hunting or discharge of firearms is allowed. This home is completely dependant on rainfall. We request that all visitors limit their water consumption. These quarters come with a 6 gallon water heater which helps reduce long showers. Due to the various types of wildlife in the area and customer allergies, we have a no pet policy that is strictly enforced. There is also a $250 fee for violation of this policy.
There is a home on-site which is the owners private residence and customers are not permitted with it's use. The RV is located under a carport next to the owner’s home. If you Fly-in, we can arrange to have you picked up and provide you a 6-person UTV for rental if requested.
Area attractions include but are not limited to: Big Bend National Park (with access to a rowboat ride into Old Mexico for lunch and shopping), Big Bend Ranch State Park, Terlingua Ghostown, Lajitas Golf Resort, a beautiful River Road trip along the Rio Grande to Presidio, TX, chartered rafting down the Rio Grande through Santa Elena Canyon or Boquillas Canyon, and dinner at the Starlight Theatre in the ghostown. You are welcome to bring your own mountain bikes, ATV’s or UTV’S and ride out right from your front door. This property is a scenic 40 minute drive from the National Park.
Closer to home (1/2mile south) , you will find the Terlingua Ranch Headquarters office open 7 days a week, along with a cabana and bath house at the swimming pool. The ranch headquarters area also has a 7 day a week/ 3 meals a day café known as "The Bad Rabbit". There is also a laundromat located very close to the mgmt. office where they also sell bagged ice, logo T-shirts, wine glasses, caps and koozies.
If you are fortunate enough to have owners Mark and Michelle there on a visit at the time of your stay, you will surely benefit from their knowledge of the area and their ability (price negotiable) to take you on a UTV guided tour of more of the unknown areas of the 225,000 acre Terlingua Ranch.
There is a 10%discount on the nightly rate for Veterans. Copy of military ID card required. Call Mark at 806-781-7814, please leave a message.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 days. Mark and Michelle are great for conversation and have extensive knowledge of the area for any questions. We had a blast seeing the wildlife around the property and enjoying the hot tub after a long hike. The stars truly were big and bright!
Mark & Michelle are amazing hosts!! We loved meeting them, hanging out on the porch enjoying their beautiful views & playing fetch with Chula! They made us feel right at home! We cannot wait to come back!
We really enjoyed our stay while visiting Big Bend National Park. The location is very peaceful and relaxing. Beautiful views of the mountains and wildlife! We enjoyed the dark skies for stargazing. The RV was very clean and comfortable. Very easy to communicate with Mark and Michelle. Loved every minute of our stay!
It's a great place to stay and relax. The accommodations were very nice, and you could not ask for better hosts. We are looking forward to our next stay!
I booked this trip for my husband and our 3 adult children( 21,21, 23) home from college. I wanted them to enjoy themselves right before Christmas. I was told how wonderful their experience had been. Everything went so well. Communication was wonderful, directions easy, the set up was clean and comfortable, and the feeling was like visiting family. After the long days of hiking they enjoyed the hot tub for sure. The abundance of wild live was very welcoming. My family loved the interaction with the hosts and the helpful advice and information they shared.
Loved that it was off the beaten path … beautiful scenery, loved seeing the deer, foxes, quail, dove and other wildlife.. Mark and Michelle were great host and hostess with a wealth of knowledge and funny 😊 Enjoyed our stay there .. 😊
We absolutely loved this property. The views are amazing and the cleanliness was superb! Mark and Michelle are wonderful hosts. I would recommend this place to anyone.
We loved our stay at Mark and Michelle’s - they are awesome hosts! They met us on our arrival and made sure we had everything needed. We stayed four nights so we could spend three days at Big Bend NP. Great home base! The stars are so awesome. We are city dwellers so we especially enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area.
Mark and Michelle went out of their way to help us when we messed up our stay. They offered us another room for one extra night when everything else in town was booked. Thank you for their hospitality and friendliness.
Waking up to the quail and deer outside the window and enjoying the evening on the porch watching the fox's was a real treat. An hour from Big Bend made it ideal.

Wonderful stay under the dark skies. The hosts, Mark and Michelle, were informative, gracious, welcoming, engaging, and friendly. The accommodation was very clean and well appointed.
We were greeted upon arrival and given an overview of the property. The hosts were very welcoming and made us feel like we could reach out for help at any time. The RV was spacious for the 3 of us. There was plenty of space to sit and relax outdoors as well. We saw animals every night, either outside the windows or from the porch. Although the RV and the hosts home is right next to each other, they allow you to use space as independently as you would like. If you want privacy, they honor that. If you’d like company, they’re great to chat with and have a sweet pup to give attention to. The Bad rabbit is close by so if you don’t want to travel far to eat, it’s a great choice. If driving a low clearance vehicle, take it slow the last few miles. Not only will it keep you from bottoming out, but it’ll give you a chance to look for animals on the way to the RV. Great place, great views, and great hosts!

Trailer and amenities were fairly good. However shower water pressure was poor and difficult to use and bedroom was small for comfortable use. Owners were very friendly and helpful during our stay with beautiful outside scenery to enjoy!
The RV is a great place to stay! It has everything you need (all the kitchen gadgets and plenty of bathroom and hot tub towels) and is very peaceful and clean. The beds were also comfortable and a welcome sight at after a long day of hiking at Big Bend. Mark did a great job communicating how to get there and check in so it was easy to find. Highly recommend!
Hosts were very accommodating and knowledgeable. Hot tub felt amazing after long hikes at Big Bend. Watching wildlife while sitting in a hot tub…doesn’t get any better than this!!
If you’re looking for somewhere to stay that feels like an extension of the desert oasis you came for, this is it! We enjoyed a comfortable, clean, private, peaceful stay in the desert filled with mountain views, active wildlife, and close accessibility to Big Bend without sacrificing anything. The host is very accommodating and helpful.
We enjoyed everything about our stay in this clean well kept rv. Our son loved being able to feed the red tailed fox and watching the mule deer and javalinas come eat in the evening. The owners were onsite and are very friendly and accommodating. It was also a pleasure getting to sit on the porch and enjoy their company.
The RV was very clean and they had a lot of things that we didnt bring, like cups, plates and coffee for the machine. We are also very thankful that they answered the phone very late at night (almost midnight) because we locked ourselves out accidentally and they gave us instructions on how to get back in. Thank you Michael and Michelle for being so kind during our stay and including our accidental lock out!
