"We had a marvelous time in Macerino! Our hosts were most welcoming and attentive and probably the nicest people in Italy. Our accommodations were beautiful and comfortable, with the best beds we have slept on in the whole country. It was quiet and peaceful and remote, and that was part of the appeal. We did take day trips down the mountain to visit other cities for lunch, thus avoiding driving the mountain road after dark. We ate twice at La Fontana, and both times were an exercise in gastronomic quality and plenty. Otherwise, we got our groceries in Aquasparta and shared food and wine on the roof porch. The resort also has parking lot. The drive to the resort is windy, twisty uneven roads I was the only thing that I didn’t like But the resort itself is amazing. "
