"The most beautiful hotel in the most idyllic Devon setting. We stayed on a wet and dreary February evening and we didn't even care about the weather. We played tennis in the beautiful gardens in advance of our outstanding 10 course tasting menu dinner with paired wines by Michael Wignall. The sommelier kindly typed out the wine pairings for us at our request. "My partner and I stayed here for an impromptu night over and wished we had stayed for longer now! The staff were so friendly and the food was incredible, there was a real homely feel to the place and the grounds are stunning. Easy parking too which is a plus. It’s only a 3 minute drive from a petrol station too. We recommend: - ordering the “ultimate burger” - saving room after dinner for one of their ice cream sundaes - ordering a local cider and sitting on the swing bench in the garden"
