"LOVE this neighborhood! Walk along canals, to the boat landing, to the riverside Bait Shack Bar. Kayak to snorkel in the springs & swim with manatee. Fabulous house with comfy beds, everything you need in the kitchen to cook great meals, great lounge area, & the screened in deck was great for keeping our paddling & biking & snorkeling gear. "

"Beautiful building, the bed in the Captains room wasn’t comfortable, but overall it was a nice stay. Little bar was within walking distance. I’d definitely stay again."

"This home felt so welcoming, with relaxing bonfires at night to the simple but adorable and homey decor. You really feel like you’ve lived on the river your whole life kayaking and fishing staying here at this home. Pet and family friendly, our kids enjoyed fishing off the dock in the evening under the shelter of the dock and I enjoyed some wine and the sunset in the hammock after bed time. It was a wonderful experience and my family will definitely be returning to this home, it’s our new home away from home! "It was our family’s 3rd time to stay at the Mermaid Shack. Terri and Doug have kept this place new ! Even though we were happy with it before , we noticed that they have put in additions and new changes to the property and home itself that made it even more comfortable to stay in . Some of our favorites were the comfortable beds , recliners, efficient washing machine , dryer and most of all , AC And in their usual fashion, our hosts, Terri and Doug continued to be very accessible if we ever needed anything.Thank you so much ! We are sure to be back again in the future "
