"The Rex is located in the very heart of District 1 in Saigon.. moments from the Walking Street and other iconic attractions such as the Post Office and Notre Dame. The style of the hotel is quite old school with dark woods and classic design. Bed firm and comfortable with a pillow menu. Ironing set delivered via concierge available by email at all times. We had a view of the central Square which had huge screens and a buzz of traffic and tourists. Highlights - the buffet breakfast is literally 10/10 and every day the menu differs slightly. We appreciated the friendly warm staff and expert chefs preparing international and Vietnamese classics. The two swimming pools were a welcome break from sightseeing and the fitness centre has all you need for a workout. I used the sauna too which was great. The lack of sockets is always a slight issue in older hotels but we managed to charge our phones by unplugging lamps or the kettle! A convenient lighting and clock control was beside the bed. Room was made up every morning by an exceptional team of cleaners. Our only issues were around quality of sleep- the streete noise wasn't the issue, some mornings there seemed to be a 7am conference below us which was a disruption for a couple having a relaxing holiday. The curtains were not blackout which meant we awoke with the sun at 6ish, fully glowing into the room. For a 5* I'd expect full blackout curtains and better soundproofing. Overall a great stay for four nights in October."

"An Exceptional Stay – Luxury, Outstanding Service and Genuine Care We had a wonderful stay at Lancaster Luxury Apartments and Hotel and cannot recommend it highly enough. From the beautiful, brand-new luxury apartments to the exceptional service, everything exceeded our expectations. What truly sets this property apart is the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive and genuinely caring. They didn’t just provide excellent service during our stay; they followed up and made sure we were well looked after. One moment that particularly stood out was when my son accidentally hit his head in the pool. Multiple staff members checked on him each day afterwards to make sure he was okay. This level of genuine care and attention meant so much to us as a family and speaks volumes about the people who work here. As someone travelling with a child who has coeliac disease, finding safe gluten-free food can be challenging, particularly in Vietnam. Lancaster was the only hotel throughout our entire Vietnam trip that provided proper gluten-free options, including gluten-free bagels and bread. This made an enormous difference to our experience and allowed us to enjoy breakfast without the stress of having to negotiate suitable food every morning. The combination of luxurious, modern accommodation, thoughtful service and genuine attention to guests’ individual needs made this hotel stand out above everywhere else we stayed.
