"We got lost on the way to the hotel as we took the second turn in however after asking a few staff around we got there. The spa was nice though we had to take our towels from the room as there were issues with delivery to the spa. The foot massage pools were not working but the rejuvenating pool outside was a nice surprise. The steam room and sauna are on the side of women’s changing rooms and that felt a bit uncomfortable as anyone could walk into the women’s changing rooms with the door open at all times. Also I could not keep an eye on my 10 years old son from there so I was not able to use it. The breakfast was lovely. Lots of choice. The grounds are nice"

"Overall, we were a bit disappointed, but since we were exhausted from our day of travel with no sleep for over 24 hours, and we were only staying one night, it served a purpose. Check-in was simple enough, but our interactions with any staff was only to pay and be handed the key. There was no real effort to make you feel welcome. Room didn’t seem to have been cleaned since the previous guests. Yes, there was fresh bed linen and towels, but the bin hadn’t been emptied and the toilet paper roll was half used with the empty roll still sitting on the toilet tank. One bath towel had brown stains on it. It’s the little things that matter. Probably the most bizarre and annoying thing was the bright green exit sign above the door (with no obvious way to turn it off). It lit up the whole room with an eerie glow all night. On the plus side, the room was relatively quiet and bed was quite comfortable. (But remember, we WERE exhausted, so we probably would have slept well on a bed of nails. All in all, it was okay for a rest stop, but I’d think long and hard before making it your base of operations for a longer visit. "

"The breakfast was very overpriced. The room was very attractive, historic and clean. The bed was comfortable. The family enjoyed the pool. Major complaint was that it was a hot day, the air conditioning wouldn't work and to make it worse, the heat wouldn't go off. "
