"Overall a nice stay and food was great. A few disappointing experiences such as when checking in we were “greeted” by Laura, I think at the front desk to get our room key. Laura needs to learn how to smile. She is the first person a customer sees and communicates with so the first impression wasn’t at all great. The same as checking out. It’s as if she didn’t want to be there. When ordering drinks with our evening meal, the bar staff didn’t fill the glasses appropriately. Also, when we went for breakfast we were left in a long slow moving queue. When we got to the front there appeared to be only one staff member seeing people to the tables. We selected a time for breakfast like everyone else, when you select a time you expect to be seated by that time. Parking was no problem and the grounds with the lake was lovely."

"Sadly despite best efforts from a friendly staff we had a poor experience with our room. On the first day there was a constant motor noise which we were told came from the kitchen and would end when service was over. Our room safe would not reset so we had to be provided with the access key. The shower was unusable as the temperature varied from too hot to scalding and despite hanging a clean me sign on the door the room was not serviced. On the plus side the food was very good with over generous portion sizes which meant we did waste some food. We were surprised that when we ordered roast sirloin beef we were served with a grilled be it a very juicy and tasty steak but definitely not a sunday roast. Also on the plus side was a very friendly barman. We were aware of someone else complaining and the receptionist said she would take the matters up with her manager."

"Lovely property tucked away in the countryside, with all the amenities for a relaxing getaway with family. We were delighted with the accommodation, and the atmosphere of tranquility can’t be beat. The check-in/check-out process was seamless. We’ll happily be booking in the near future. "
