"The property is excellent , food in the restaurant superb especially the evening meal. We were served by Massimiliano who was friendly and attentive k, professional without being over the top or stuffy and pretentious - his style suited us perfectly and made for a very enjoyable evening. With no parking very close by dropping luggage off in the rain was tricky. We if possible I would travel my train and with a little less luggage as a result of this. The spa is excellent albeit a little expensive and limited to 90 mins but it is quite small so this controls the numbers in there at anyone time to a comfortable amount and ensures a peaceful experience. Rooms facing the road can be a little noisy with late night revellers on a Friday and Saturday but not too disruptive. Overall a very pleasant stay."

"I was cold in bedroom. Reported it and was told a heater would be supplied. There was already a fan of sorts which I presume was their version of a heater, but I could only get cold air. The lounge was cold too. Breakfast ok, but not much fruit. Lift very slow. General air of needing refurbishment."

"Room bit tired looking, could do with a paint freshener. But clean, staff very friendly and helpful, especially as we has next room going at it arguing for quite a while. Staff dealt with it professionally."

"The views from the hotel are really lovely and the hotel has a really relaxing feel to it. There are plenty of tables outside where you can sit and enjoy the magnificent view on sunny days. We absolutely loved our two night stay here and have booked to go back there again in July for a three night stay."

"Very noisy private function made it impossible to sleep - had to change rooms at midnight. Horrible experience - would never return. Was promised a refund and will be pursuing this. "

"We recently stayed here and overall had a pleasant visit,with a few areas that could benefit from some attention.On the positive side,the property is in a great location,especially being so close to Caerphilly Castle.The WiFi was reliable throughout our stay,and the heating worked very well,which made it nice and cosy.The space itself is cute and you can see there has been effort put into making it feel welcoming and comfortable.There are just a few maintenance and housekeeping points worth noting.The backyard was a little untidy on arrival,with trash bags by the doorstep. Inside,there was a dusty smell, some cobwebs, and a bit of mould in places.The kitchen could also be a bit better equipped—we found a few basic utensils missing and ended up purchasing teaspoons and a spatula.The coffee machine wasn’t working during our stay, and the air fryer wasn’t positioned near a plug, which made it slightly inconvenient to use.There were also only a small number of dishwashing pods provided for the length of our stay.A couple of minor maintenance issues as well: the back door didn’t lock properly from the outside, the slats on the bed base in the second room were loose, and some skirting boards were damaged. The bathroom was based downstairs and lovely,although the shower glass felt slightly loose. Overall, this is a charming place with great potential and some lovely features—it would just benefit from a bit of extra care and attention to detail."
