"Although the hotel was in a good location and had free parking , a nice room and an adequate breakfast. Unfortunately our 1 night stay was spoilt with the fact that on our arrival the hotel was completely locked up. Check in stated it was from 3pm and we arrived at half past. After ringing the proprietor, she arrived after half an hour to let us in. Our next problem was over the price we paid . Our offer included a free breakfast ,but the lady argued that we hadn't paid enough. So she rang Expedia to complain. So we had to sit and wait about another hour before we were given the key to our room. But at least we were told that we were entitled to a free breakfast. We still had to settle the bill for city tax which states is €2 35 each. But we didn't receive any change from a 10€ note. As it took over 90mins to check in , it meant that we had very little time to visit the lovely centre of valkeburg before the attractions closed. I certainly wouldn't visit again due to the owners bad attitude. Although I must say, the girl who served breakfast was lovely."

"This was a dump. There were holes in doors and the carpet was gross. The furniture was salvaged. The towels should have been used for cleaning. I put a chair in front the door and left a light on because there’s no additional lock. I would never recommend this space to someone. "

"Would have liked to choose my own breakfast. And not be asked if we were all coming down together as some days we were doing are own thing so we felt like we couldn’t come down together on the days we were together "

"We found the room clean and comfortable although the heating/cooling unit in the room slightly noisy. An additional electric portable radiator was available in the room which maybe was there due to this issue. Staff very friendly and helpful. Using the railway station parking was only 7€ a day and only across the road so a better price than the on site price. The bar a great selection of wines as per the theme but also local beers and the normal selection of spirits."

"Hotel nice, room very basic and small, no tea making facilities which for this day and age is very unusual, the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor so we had to put a towel down. Breakfast was lovely, and had everything you could expect to start the day We have an electric car and the hotel has charging points, the lady on reception had absolutely no idea how they worked or if we could charge our car anywhere else. The lady in the TI was nice and pointed us in the right direction, when we got it sorted I told the lady on reception that if anyone else asked about charging where to go. She just rudely said well your the first to ask and walked off. They’re are many other hotels in valkenbourg to choose, but this has the swimming pool and free parking. A 5 min walk into town is easy and the train station is 2 mins away. Would I stay here again…probably not, only because of the choice of hotels in the town."

"The bathrooms are too small. But the rooms are good for a short stay and just sleeping. It feels historic and charming. Has decent breakfast. "
