Excellent hotel with a very special Japanese cultural impression. Staff is extremely professional and the rooms are big and clean. It is next to the Meguro train station which makes it very easy to travel to Shibuya, Shinjuku, etc. The hotel is right next to the Meguro river with cherry blossom trees throughout the location. Beautiful hotel!

Beautiful hotel and stay. Worth every penny!

They helped arrange an all vegetarian dinner at the Japanese restaurant in the hotel and it was spectacular! And our room had an unexpected view of Mt. Fuji! Was a wonderful stay. The beds, the bath, steam shower and gorgeous hotel. Only wish we had more time!

Wonderdul japanese hotel, we loved visiting the old part and its miniature exhibit. We stayed in their japanese style room, they are great for a family of 4, spacious, nice bedding and bathroom. The only issue is door heights, a bit small if you are 6ft or taller :)

This property was spectacular huge beautiful top-notch service very friendly. Staff would stay here again amazing included breakfast. The only con is I wish they spoke a little bit better English, especially the concierge and it was not walkable to central Tokyo so we had to take the taxi or subway But I would definitely stay here any day very large huge room rooms very clean

BEAUTIFUL!!!

One of the most beautiful and comfortable hotels we've every stayed at. I wish we could have stayed longer. I took so many photos of the hotel and bathrooms, it was so silly, but I was in awe of how lovely everything was. We also ate at their steak restaurant and enjoyed it, definitely recommend this hotel. We walked quite a bit in the morning, and this location is easy to get to the Art Museum, several shrines and more.

Amazing experience

Amazing experience at the Gajoen. We have been to Japan many times, but this one stood out. Lots of traditional Japanese culture in luxurious settings, the waterfall, the small water canal with Koi, the large suite room, the Japanese Kaiseki restaurant in a traditional building within the building, the Hundred Steps museum, the relief wall panels of Heian era scenes, a sumptuous buffet breakfast, Omotenashi service etc all lovely.

English-speaking front desk clerk is not very attentive. He ignore us for a while and also didn't explain well enough how free tours are working in the adjacent museum. While breakfast was fine albeit a bit expensive in their Kanade restaurant, dinner and tea service were so-so.
