We had a lovely stay here - the hotel is very quiet, cozy and nicely decorated. The room was cozy and clean as well - temperature was great as well. Staff was very helpful and welcoming. I recommend grabbing breakfast at the Japanese restaurant downstairs.
For the money you pay, I think the cleanliness of the rooms could use some work. Walls have scratches from previous people peeling, and the sink at the bottom is not clean. The amenities are nice, but with the price you pay, I would like breakfast.
I like the modern retro Japanese ‘70’s vibe of this hotel very much. It is in quiet neighbourhood, but close to restaurants and a subway station.
The wifi is also from the 70’s, unfortunatly.
I love Niwa Hotel and stay here pretty often. They always listen to guest feedback, so I dare to make another request.
If only the in-room safe were one size larger to fit a laptop. Having this would make my regular stays 100% perfect.
Easy check-in and out. Friendly staff. Clean room and facility. Get the breakfast option for a fee, the food was excellent. There are options for western buffet or traditional Japanese food. Walking distance to train stations.
Prefect zen sanctuary in the middle of Tokyo. Kudos to the architects that designed this oasis.
You really don't feel like you're in the city once you step through the doors. The rooms and spacious and the staff is excellent.
Only draw back is there are some open air university fields across from the hotel so you will can some noise when they are playing or practicing.
We loved our stay at this hotel. We were able to check in early after a long flight, which was a great bonus. The rooms are very quiet, the area safe and close to many restaurants. We are looking forward to staying here again.
Hotel Niwa is a beautiful hotel. The staff is helpful, accommodating, and welcoming. The room was just as pictured and immaculately clean. Both the Japanese and Western-style breakfasts were delicious. The amenities - the relaxation lounge and massage seats - were perfect after a day of sightseeing and traveling. The surrounding neighborhood offered excellent food options, 24-hour convenience stores, and a nearby train station. The rooms are well-insulated, and so we heard zero noise from other people. The bathtub is grand, large, and lovely for a good soak at the end of a walking-filled day. This is an amazing property; I highly recommend it.
It’s our first hotel in Japan and it already showed me the quality and standard of service that can be achieved exceeding 5 star hotels I stayed in America.
OK, so the Hotel Niwa in Tokyo is a literal oasis in the middle of the city and it felt so restful to return to this sanctuary at the end of a long day of the spectacular noise and visual overload of Tokyo. From the lobby (and the super helpful staff there), to the breakfast buffet to the lovely tradition-inspired room design, I found this whole experience to be exemplary. There is no ground-floor window or glass door you can look out through from inside and not see greenery, foliage, water displays, wooden walkways, and under-stated beautiful lighting. When I needed help with taxis (because, for some reason, the GO Taxi App wouldn't work in Tokyo, no matter where I was or how many times I tried) and with directions, the staff went above and beyond to make sure I got to where I wanted to go, including walking me out the front door straight into the taxi and sending me off with a respectful bow. The food at the breakfast buffet represented every possible kind of food a visitor or a local might want in the morning - small cozy dining room, greenery out the window, tastefully decorated, and unobtrusive staff making sure everything stayed stocked. Delicious and pleasant! My room, in tasteful white and pale wood tones, had plenty of space and the bathroom, likewise, a good size with all the amenities and comforts you would want. Honestly, I have no notes for anything that needed fixing or tweaking - this hotel did everything right on my June 2026 visit.
Clean room, nice surroundings, very convenient with laundries on 3rd floor. Relaxation room there is great add on. Love the 2 style breakfast. Will definitely come back.
