Welcome to Captain’s Hideaway! This handcrafted tiny cabin is as cozy as it gets, just steps from the lakefront in our shared backyard reserved for vacation guests. Grab the folding chairs, sip a glass of wine, and enjoy the cool summer breeze overlooking Lake Erie.
Located within 15 minutes of downtown restaurants and nightlife, and close to a local grocery store, public boat launch, and a popular neighborhood waterfront restaurant.
Captain’s Hideaway is a tiny cabin in the heart of Point Place, a charming boating community. The cabin has two small interior steps—one into the living room and one into the bedroom. The bedroom features a queen-size bed, with a sofa bed in the living room and a small twin roll-out foam topper for an additional guest. Best suited for up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. The unit includes central heat and A/C, a full kitchen with apartment-size appliances, and one designated parking space.
You will have the cabin entirely to yourself. Guests may enjoy the shared backyard with lake views—perfect for a peaceful evening. The cabin is situated between a house and the street, with a dedicated walking path leading to the lakefront common area (see walkway photo).
Guests may enjoy a large shared backyard with three picnic tables, shared with the neighboring two houses—perfect for relaxing, enjoying a fire, or sipping wine with a view.
Two waterfront fire pits are available for guest use when winds are light and blowing offshore. Firewood is not provided. A shared park-style charcoal grill is also available by the water (charcoal and lighter fluid not provided).
Please note: the shoreline is rocky, and swimming is not available at this property.
Lake life includes wildlife and bugs. While the property is kept clean and comfortable, occasional insects may be present, especially during warmer months—please consider this before booking.
No local bookings accepted. Local reservations will be canceled. No parties or unauthorized guests—this is strictly enforced.
