Our River Rock home is located on 8 acres in the woods down a one mile long country road lined with cow pastures only 6 miles from Tomball. The property has a large swimming pool, a brand new 4-6 person hot tub, an outdoor shower, and a large fire pit with 10 chairs and a picnic table. The house has a foosball table for those that want to have fun with friends and family. The back patio has a propane fire pit for calm relaxing nights. A charcoal grill is available for outdoor cooking. The property has a large grassy area perfect for children to run around and play outdoor games.

This was a beautiful property, secluded enough for privacy yet still close to restaurants, stores, etc. The hosts were also very easy to get a hold of and the home was very well stocked. We loved the pool!

Loved every minute!

We loved our 9 day stay here. The highlight was the beautiful, large, deep, clean swimming pool that we swam in every day. The home is in a gorgeous remote setting and we loved being surrounded by so much nature. There were lots of different areas to hang out both inside and out. The home was very comfortable and spacious for our family of four. We would love to stay here again!

The perfect place to relax with kids

We spent a week at the river cottage with our 3 kids (5 to 12 y/o) and had a blast: the house, the pool and the location are perfect to spend relaxing vacations. The house was huge for 5 people, very well decorated, equipped and super clean. Even with some thunderstorms during the week, we could stay inside and play ping-pong or soccer table with the kids. The pool is fantastic, never cold and totally appropriate for young kids who start to swim. We didn't use the fire pit, but usually spent the end of the day there just to relax and watch the sunset. The house is really quiet at night and equipped with night-lights in every rooms: my kids feel loved them! We will absolutely come back.

Full of entertainment

Man did we enjoyed our stay! Plan on booking again when in the area. The house was beautiful in and out. Clean, spacious and full of entertainment. We have a no electronics rule while on vacation and our family was able to disconnect and enjoy the amenities. The pool was clean, with many floats available. The grounds were well kept. Loved using the trampoline, playhouse, the many seating areas, the swing and hammock, and the grassy areas; also the fish pond was nice to look at. The kitchen was well equipped, had everything we needed! And finally the welcome treats left on the counter were a family favorite. Thank you! We will be back

Wonderful Family Holiday Retreat!

Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect for our extended family! Smores around the large firepit, hand warming around the gas firepit on the back deck. Watching the owls, rabbits, and deer throughout the day! The deer sitings were pleasantly frequent throughout each day. Home was cozy and warm. Experienced heavy rain over 1 night which allowed us to watch the sky dance from the comfort of the wrap around windows in the living room! My grandson and even my son had a blast on the trampoline! My grandson also loved hanging the hammock outside each day. He loved laying back in it and many times we had to coax him back inside at the end of the day! Kitchen has everything you could need and beds are super comfy! If your looking for a home that offers everything you could need and a beautiful property close to nature, book this home! Hidden Oasis Tucked Among the Trees!

Stunningly beautiful, peaceful, and serene. Frequent daily visits from a total of 11 deer (3 bucks, several doe, and babies! One day while lounging in thr pool several deer came within a stones throw of me and stayed for several munutes! Heard 2 owls every evening and saw one several times flying low along the property! Absolutely PERFECT! Home has an open floorplan that gives plenty of room for everyone. Windows throughout the home allow all of nature in from every viewpoint. The home is very welcoming and provides for every need, want, and desire! Beautifully appointed and bedrooms are extremely comfortable and relaxing! Fully stocked kitchen, wonderful pool, outdoor shower, and large firepits add so much to the overall ambiance of the property. Check in was a breeze and no issues whatsoever during our stay! Hosts are thoughtful, attentive, and genuine! Thanks so much for offering such a wonderful retreat and memories we will cherish always!

Absolutely Exceptional in Every Way!!!!

The beautiful, well decorated, cozy, warm and welcoming home along with the caring nature of the owners is why I continue to rent River Rock Cottage again and again. The owners personal touches to the home with vacationers in mind show their thoughtfulness and kindness at every turn! This was our family's third time staying at this tranquil "back to nature" retreat. We would never think of staying anywhere else! This home has so many wonderful amenities it's nearly impossible to capture it all in a review! Morning coffee on the large back deck overlooking the property, afternoons lounging around the pristine pool, summertime bbqs by the pool or back deck, evenings gathered around the large dining room table, playing ping pong or foosball are only a fraction of what can be enjoyed! Evenings on the back deck gave us endless hours of building memories and watching for 2 beautiful owls who would land in the trees right by where we would sit! We could never ask for more of a serene and peaceful time! Thank you Shaw family for the continued joy and delight of our summer stays. You always exceed our every expectation!

The River Rock Cottage far exceeded our expectations! They thought of everything imagineable!!!

The home was very secluded, which was wonderful but close enough to drive into town to grab groceries and snacks. Very clean with more than enough linen, dishes, toys, games and cleaning supplies to maintain a clean and pleasant home during our stay. The 2 Large-sized refrigerators and front load washer and dryer made stay even easier for all of us! Plenty of space for younger kids to play and for older teenagers to hang out in their own space. There was also plenty of large spaces and family areas that more than accommodated for our large family meals and time together. The outdoor fire pit was perfect for making s'mores and telling ghost stories. The propane fire pit and outdoor couples swing out back were perfect for nice quite private time for the adults in the evenings. The pool and splash toys provided day long entertainment for all family members. The property had large enough yard space for kids to play & see nature and its' wildlife that kids do not get to experience in Hawai'i, (Our Home). Would definitely consider making this an annual summer rental for all future Family Reunions! Thank you so much for making our 2016 Family Reunion unforgettable and AWESOME for the entire Family. We really enjoyed our 5-night stay. The property was well maintained and had plenty of outdoor space. The pool was great to cool off in the summer heat. I really liked how quiet it was and felt secluded but shopping was fairly close. It felt like home right down to newly potted plants and ferns. We would stay here again for our next visit to Texas.

Excellent rental. Very easy check in. the place was fully stocked with things I would not have imagined. Beautifull views of the property. Seen deer everyday. The pool was amazing. The only, slight, disappointment, was the house out front, almost beside the pool. Not very private. Not a deal breaker though. I can not wait to plan my next stay. I actually flew in from Pa. for a wedding. Staying at this place is my next excuse to fly down here to Texas. Thank you, to the owners, for such an amazing stay.

Serenity & Complete Privacy

This is the 4th time that we have stayed here. For our family, staying here is a must have for a great trip. It has a big swimming pool surrounded by beautiful nature. This swimming pool has the most amount of shallow area compared to other rental homes with pools which I have stayed in. This is the house where we taught my 5 year old learned how to swim last year. If you want complete privacy, neighbours are far away & well hidden behind trees, and if you want serenity this is the place to go.

Awesome Place!

Highly recommend this lovely home! It was spotless, well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Beds were extremely comfortable. Excellent communication from the rental staff - very clear and easy check in and check out information. It was exactly as described in the listing and the views were amazing. Huge trees and wildlife make the property one of our favorites we have ever stayed at. The pool and hot tub both were awesome as well. We definitely plan on staying here again in the future!

Wonderful stay

We stayed here for my son's baseball tournament at Premier Baseball. The ballpark was about 7 minutes away - so convenient!! The cottage was very well stocked with everything we could have possibly needed. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The pool and trampoline were wonderful ways to keep the teenagers entertained. I highly recommend the house for a family stay!

Absolutely beautiful home and property! Tons of wildlife! Saw several bucks, doe's and baby deer!! Home is beautifully appointed and offers every creature comfort you can think of! We made a big fire in the outdoor firepit for New Years Eve! The new hot tub added to the overall ambiance and provided a great way to relax and stay warm during our winter vacation! Wedding in Texas

Beautiful home and has everything you didnt realize you needed for a week long stay with kids. Me and my family came in from NC for a wedding and had a wonderful stay here. The kids, 4 year old triplets and my 10 year old loved everything the house had to play with from toys, sand box, the pool, ect. The owners went out of their way to install child safety locks on all the doors leading outside, which was much appreciated! The pool is not fenced, though was not a problem for my family as my kids are very active in the water and taught water safety. The kitchen was stocked and had everything needed to buy groceries for dinner and cook. Washer and dryer was awesome to have and they had all supplies for you. The property is quite and peaceful! Definitely worth the stay!
