"This is an old merchant house that has been nicely remodeled as a hotel. It's smack in the middle of Tomonoura's historic renewal district. The room I had was spacious, comfortable, and nicely designed. This hotel requires some pre-planning: getting the shuttle bus from Fukuyama, making sure basic needs are met (no onsite staff, except at breakfast time). "Your room was wonderful and a great design for solo travellers. Dyson hair dryer was very unexpected. One thing I would say is once you sit something down for the breakfast buffet, and another group of two comes in, asking me to move from my space when I’m already picking food requires me to be nice."

"This is a spotlessly clean unit and is great as a starting point for the shimanami kaido. It's a very short walk to the pier and the train station. Note that you need to communicate with the property manager via the Expedia app and upload your passport etc the day you check in so make sure you have mobile data and your passport copies are under ~4MB. The property manager is ridiculously quick to respond to messages if you have questions. "

"Excellent location adjacent to train station. The staff at front counter were SUPER nice and friendly. Very helpful and accomodating. There is a lovely castle literally next door. The breakfast was easily the best I’ve had in a Japan business style hotel and was included in the room rate!! Only stayed one night, but would definitely stay again in the future!!"
