"It's a little bit tired to be honest. The room was spacious and reasonably well equipped. But, the towel rail did not work and the heating system was a bit iffy, so getting the right temperature was a bit of a trial; and the first day was pretty chilly. "Great location for La Rochelle with everything right outside the hotel. We had a comfort room and it was small, so I would recommend upgrading if you can. Great breakfast selection but get down early. It's a quirky hotel, very prison block style inside! People walking through the breakfast area with their cases was a bit strange. Disappointing that the bar was closed during August. No room service or evening meals, just breakfast. Rooms cleaned daily but service was inconsistent. We had two rooms, the second room had bottled water and extra toilet rolls left every day, the first room didn't! Not something we complained about, but it was annoying. Overall it was good for a short stay."

Not too much of a problem as only slept there but initially it felt a little claustrophobic. Great location. Would stay there again but only in a room with a window you could see out of and opened."
