WELCOME TO TOOGOOM RETREAT
Situated between Hervey Bay and Burrum Heads, right on the banks of the beautiful Beelbi Creek, the leafy 5 acre hideaway, Toogoom Retreat, is adjoined front and back by State Forest and Marine Reserve.
With its own large jetty, natural boat ramp and direct access to the pristine waters of Hervey Bay and world heritage listed Fraser Island, the property will offer everything you need for your vacation getaway.
Toogoom Retreat is where wildlife abounds and includes sunset visits by dolphins, a huge range of sea and land birds, and fabulous crabbing, prawning, and fishing from your very own jetty. The Beelbi Creek is a tidal waterway, and Toogoom Retreat's natural boat ramp is the perfect place to launch your skiff, dinghy, jet ski, kayak, or paddleboard. For guests with larger boats, the Toogoom Boat Ramp is only 2km down the road.

COME INSIDE
LIVING – The open-plan lounge, dining, and kitchen open out on the large timber deck with BBQ. The deck overlooks the water where you can watch the kiddies in the water or wine & dine while enjoying the amazing sunsets in the afternoon.
KITCHEN – The large kitchen has plenty of storage space, walk-in pantry, wall oven, a cooking island with a 5 burner Glem gas cooktop, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and water views.
LOUNGE– The lounge area has 2 x  2 seater lounges. Television with  local channels and Telstra TV, DVD player with a large range of DVDs available to watch. Netflix is also available for those guests who hold an account.
Main Bathroom – A spacious family bathroom with a shower, sunken bath and separate toilet.
BEDROM 1 – The spacious master queen bedroom has mirrored wardrobes and ensuite bathroom with shower and toilet. The bedroom overlooks the lush tropical gardens.
BEDROOM 2 – This bedroom has a comfy queen bed, built in wardrobe, ceiling fan and overlooks the water with access onto the timber deck.
BEDROOM 3 – The bedroom has a comfy double bed, a chest of drawers, and a ceiling fan. The room overlooks the tropical gardens.
Extra sleeping for children - There are 2 single mattress available for children.
LAUNDRY– The laundry is combined with the garage and has a large front loader washing machine, clothes dryer, an iron, and an ironing board.
ALFRESCO DECK – The large deck overlooking the water is the perfect space to spend your day relaxing and enjoy the spectacular afternoon sunsets.
PETS – Outdoor pets are considered however the property is on 5 acres and only has farm fencing along its boundaries. Please view pictures of the yard to note fencing to see if the yard would be suitable for your pet.

Amazing week

Had an excellent stay at Toogoom Retreat. Great house with everything you would need. Excellent communication with Kleyre the host. Good fishing and crabbing in the creek and a relaxing place to enjoy a holiday.

Fantastic Time.

Wonderfull stay, quiet location, perfect for my family and friends to get together. Plenty of space for the kids and the fishing and crabbing was busy enough for them to be interested all the time. Best stay I've had anywhere . 6 Stars.

A perfect getaway

We all absolutely enjoyed our stay. The most relaxing spot, so good didnt want to come home . Great crabbing and sitting by the fire was amazing 😊 Will be definitely booking again 😊

Great Secluded Location

Absolutely loved this house! Great views in every room. House was clean and well stocked with essentials. Boat ramp and personal jetty was a big plus. Nice verandah to enjoy the afternoon and watch the sunset! Was getting cool at night when we were there, so the firepit was a bonus.

The kind of place that feels like home

This was our second visit to this slice of paradise. It has everything for the fishing and pet lover. The new owners have fixed up the place fantastically. Fishing with bait a quick paddle away. A private jetty and large yard. We have only just left and we are already planning dates to return.

Fantastic break away

We were so impressed with the cleanliness and how well appointed this house was. Such a beautiful location and a comfortable place for us, a group of 6 plus our dog. Whether we were outside enjoying nature the picturesque large trees, the wonderful waterways and a little nightime fire, or inside cooking together and playing games or watching movies, we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We did not want to leave! Highly recommend for a stress free getaway.

ideal setting

Great position on river, everchanging scenery and quiet. The house reasonably well kept unfortunately some upgrade in external maintenance needed ie, Lights, timber work, gates, blinds both inside /outside, internally the gas cooker needs checking, as does oven/fridge. Overall we enjoyed our break away from the hustle bustle.

Property manager was so helpful with prompt replies. House is stunning. Mud crabs, whiting, Estuary cod, and Trevally were caught. Will definitely be back. Only suggestion I have would be lighting on the Jetty for night fishing.

Absolutely loved the home and locale...property manager Kleyre had prompt response time on a Sunday - gold stars!! Should you decide to stay - a quick trip to BCF is a must, mud crabs brilliant sizes (they love Mullet) and flatheads good eating - kids also caught bream from the jetty and released them. (be sure to look at QLD Dept of Fisheries to ensure you are doing the right thing & maintaining a sustainable environment for our marine life - in this instance size does matter ;D ) Listening to the frogs and crickets at night from the pond out front were like a lullaby that put us all straight to sleep and the driveway is beautiful for anytime of day strolls. Highly recommend!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home, location and river access were all excellent. The boys caught a heap of crabs and the little boys loved flicking their rods off the jetty. We loved sitting on that big beautiful verandah for afternoon drinks. Great spot to explore Hervey Bay and we evrn travelled up to Elliot Heads and Bargara near Bundaberg for a day trip.House was very clean and Klayre was extremely responsive if we had any questions. Highly recommend, pack high powered bug spray for sand flies.

Lovely location

The Toogum Retreat is a lovely place to relax and unwind. If I could give some honest feedback it would be to upgrade the beds and change the water pressure in the bathrooms. The contraption on the air conditioner was confusing and I don’t think necessary given the property has solar panels. There was plenty of linen and the property was really clean on arrival. Lovely big Kitchen that is more than adequate with plenty of supplies for cooking. The garage was excellent with plenty of height for our 4wd to clear. The property manager was welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. Overall I would recommend a getaway at this beautiful property on the river.

Such a peaceful location!

We spent a week boating, swimming, kayaking, crabbing and fishing at Toogoom Retreat. Such a vibrant river system. Kids especially loved jetty jumping at high tide. We kept the fire stoked and ate lunch outside under the shady trees. Just bliss. Kylere the property manager was great, she ensured we were contacted and fully informed before check in with all the information when the website went down. It was lovely to meet you Kylere. The house was spotless and lovely and cool upon arrival after a long drive. Everything you need is stocked in the kitchen, there’s plenty of towels and linen. All the amenities to keep the inside house and verandah tidy are all available. Guests should come fully stocked with mossie coils, bug spray and stop itch for the bugs that come out at dawn and dusk. And if you want to spend extended time on the jetty and in the water bring a shade gazebo to tie down. This week was one of our families best holidays yet, just so restful and peaceful, we were all sad having to go back to reality. Looking forward to visiting Toogoom Retreat again.

A family get together

I have stayed at this property before, so when we were considering a family get together we decided that this property was perfect. As with our last time, it was spotless when we arrived. We had a great time around the fire pit at night, even though it was a little cold. The men even got to go fishing and crabbing although unsuccessfully. I recommend this property to any one who is looking for a quiet time with all the amenities.

We love this place and will always come back to stay. Kleyre is so good to deal with, always a hassle free process when booking. The house is neat and tidy on arrival but we come here for the fishing and crabbing and never disappoints.

This property is awesome you wont be disappointed. Great place to kick back and enjoy life. So quite and with the river on your doorstep there is always something do. We caught a couple of feeds of crab right from the jetty. The house had everything we needed and the communication from Kleyre was outstanding.
