"We had a wonderful experience staying here! Such a warm and friendly welcome from the owner who gave us personal recommendations that were spot on. He took the time to talk to us and it felt like we had a friend in Istanbul. The location worked out well too, it is surrounded by tons of hip cafes on a street shaded by grape arborsand an easy walk or tram to both the main tourist areas and the more local hangouts. There is some noise from the cafes downstairs but it didn't bother me at all and...

"First time I stayed was fine. This was my second time at Root and the room didn't have a proper window and AC wasn't working. Very uncomfortable bed. We checked out after 30min and were not issued a refund unfortunately."
