The property itself is stunning: a beautifully preserved historic estate set in the peaceful hills near Cortona, surrounded by gardens, vineyards, and the golden light of the Tuscan countryside. But what truly set this place apart — what made it unforgettable — was the food. We were treated to an extraordinary culinary journey: over 19 exquisite courses, each one more delicious and artfully presented than the last. Every dish felt like a masterpiece — bold in flavor, flawless in technique, and crafted with the kind of passion you’d expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. The chef didn’t just cook — they told a story with each plate. The restaurant staff went above and beyond, especially the manager, who made us feel like honored guests every time we sat down to dine. Every detail — from wine pairings to plating — was perfect. It was, hands down, the best food we had in all of Europe. "It's hard to imagine you can call staying at a property with the nightly rates that are being charged here as good value, but amazingly it is. This is by far the best property I have ever had the joy of staying at, the attention to detail is second to none. All of the staff are amazing and make the stay feel like you're part of a family, you can spend all day just wandering around the grounds there are so many little details to find and the pool is to die for. The nightly dinners are some of the best you'll ever have, and the breakfast is a whole other level. Rooms are immaculate, feel like the level of luxury you'd expect for the price, but manages to feel really homely and not souless like some higher end properties can often become. Only bad thing I can say is that we spent 3 weeks in Italy after this stay and it ruined the rest of the trip for us because nothing can compare to this property. We stayed at other villas in Tuscany with similar ratings/price tags but Lupaia just has something else that the others can't replicate. "
