Manuka Cottage offers a relaxing escape with our gorgeous 7 seat Blue Whale Spa Hot Tub with crystal clear water – lovely all year round, either under the stars or after a hard day crabbing with the kids. The spa is maintained at 38 degrees year round and set in a fully enclosed private garden, so you can relax whilst the family/ pets are safe. The cottage itself is beautifully maintained and is comfortably luxurious and exceptionally clean.
Located in beautiful Stoke Gabriel village, we have the best of both worlds - being set in a peaceful location whilst being on the outskirts of Torbay, the beaches and Attractions.
Stoke Gabriel is great for food, families and dogs! The village is situated on the River Dart and has 2 village pubs, Emma's Restaurant, and gourmet cafe, The River Shack, all within walking distance. We also have Sharpham Vineyard at Sandridge Barton, just a walk away where you can spend the afternoon sampling or take a tour around the vineyard. The village has a back-in-time, community feel, there are some beautiful walks and places to explore around the village or across the Millpool.
We are a 10 minute drive from Torbay’s Goodrington and Broadsands beaches and the many attractions of Torbay - Splashdown Water Park, Paignton Zoo, the South Devon Coast Path, Agatha Christie's National Trust home at Greenway, the coastal Steam Railway, Cockington village and the Babbacombe Model Village to name a few! Other beautiful towns of Totnes, Brixham and Dartmouth are a short drive also and well worth a visit, very different towns each in their own right.
Our comfortable living room boasts a 55" Sky Glass TV complete with Netflix and sumptuous Lounge Co sofa. The dining room, off the kitchen, has a six seater table, is fully heated and has board games for the family for an evening of good times after dinner. We have a well-equipped kitchen, with everything you’d expect complete with a dishwasher, Tassimo coffee-machine with pods, perfect for those Sunday mornings..there’s an armchair in the corner, so just put your feet up with your mug and grab that book you’ve been meaning to read.
Out and About - Detail Idyllic Stoke Gabriel has two proper old villagey pubs, the Church House Inn and The Castle which does a gorgeous Sunday Roast. We have a village shop for your Sunday paper or hot sausage roll or take a stroll down to the beautiful River Dart where you can hire out canoes or the kids can go crabbing and visit to the River Shack café perched on the riverside. The River Shack serves gourmet burgers, home made cakes and children's food. Visit the churchyard with one of the oldest Yew Trees in Britain, said to date back 1000 years. There are two lovely parks for the children, Sandridge Barton, the home of Sharpham Vinyard, is just a walk away. Here you can take a walk around the vineyard or sit and sample the wines in a beautiful barn courtyard setting.
For adventure seekers and lovers of the outdoors, Torbay is a ten-minute drive away, offering many (17!) beaches and coves where the natural beauty can be explored with open countryside walks across Elberry Cove and the South Devon Coast Path and with the many water sports for hire and excursions with paddleboarding, kayaking, coasteering, sea fishing, jet skiing. We have so many attractions in Torbay which include the Steam Railway along the beach fronts to Kingswear, Paignton Zoo, Babbacombe Model Village, the Vue Cinema, Paignton Pier, Splashdown Water Park (the largest water park in the UK), Brixham Fish Market and Restaurants, Torquay and Brixham Marina’s and Agatha Christie’s former home at Greenway. There is also a buzzing nightlife in Torquay with funky bars and places to eat on the Quayside and beachside. Dartmouth is just over the river, a pretty boutique town on the banks of the River Dart with Woodlands Theme Park nearby and Exeter with Crealy Theme Park for the thrill seekers. Dartmoor, wonderful for wild open walks and meals by a roaring pub firesides is 30 minutes away and Totnes, a historic hippy castle town is 10 minutes drive on the way to Plymouth, a 40-minute drive away. There is so much to do in our lovely part of the world, we’d love to help you make the most of it. Deb Price

The house, the location and host were all superb and ideal for our family and furbies. We had a great time enjoying the house, location and outdoor activities in the area. We will definitely head back someday.
The cottage was lovely. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable and well equipped inside and out and Deb, the host, was a star. Stoke Gabriel is a charming little place with two lovely pubs and easy access to other, busier centres. We very much enjoyed our stay and would certainly go back.
Superb property, well located easy to find, very clean on arrival, kitchen well equipped, conservatory was lovely to sit in for meals very warm, bedroom's great nice comfy beds had great night's sleep, Deborah is an excellent host

Wonderful welcome as house was decorated with Christmas tree and decorations, a cream tea and a bottle of Prosecco. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the owner was very attentive to all our needs. Comfortable rooms with an amazing TV which was much better than our own!
Manuka was a lovely house to stay in whilst we explored Devon on our honeymoon. It was spotless and easy to feel comfortable straight away. Deb was a wonderful host making sure we were enjoying our stay and even got us some Prosecco and scones to congratulate us on our marriage! The hot tub was wonderful! Our dog Nessie felt straight at home and the house is well equipped for dogs. We will definitely be back with a bigger group to enjoy Manuka and the beautiful beaches and hikes around!
We stayed at Manuka cottage for 5 weeks, of all the places we have stayed over the years Deb is by far the best host we have experienced, very friendly and attentive to all our needs. The property itself is beautiful, spacious, providing everything that we needed, very comfortable beds and based within a quiet area. The biggest perk would have to be the hottub which as a family we enjoyed very much. Over all a luxury experience and we would definitely come back again at some point.
Thanks for everything Deb, hope to see you again soon 😊
A lovely property in a lovely location. In the countryside but a short drive to all of the local attractions. Stayed for a long weekend and would definitely return. The garden gets good sunshine and is mostly fake grass so doesn't get muddy if it rains. The cottage was clean and well equipped. The walk in shower cubicle is in a small ensuite but there's an over bath shower in the bigger main bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped and there were tea bags and coffee pods already there for us.
Great location, lovely host who had all things covered and even called us from her holiday abroad to make sure we were all ok. House lovely and clean, really close to local amenties and the river dart. 10.mins by car from Paignton, Brixham and Torquay. We also took the dogs with us and they were really happy there, great garden for the kids, hot tub is lovely and would thoroughly recommend this property as extremely gpod value for money. Would absolutely use it again. Thanks Deb.
Manuka Cottage is set in a beautiful location a quiet peaceful village. The cottage was a wonderful base clean and very well maintained everything you could wish for. Debbie is a fantastic host even popping round to make sure everything was ok and if we needed anything.
The welcome pack was much appreciated after our long journey.
We would highly recommend Manuka cottage to anyone wanting to visit the south west.
We will be going back soon that's for sure...
Thank you so much Deb for making us feel so welcome.
We had a fantastic week enjoying the area, so much to do and see.
Deb was brilliant and was on hand for any issues that we had.
We didn't have any, but did request a few items in the kitchen, and they appeared within hours and with no queries at all.
A great place for the family in a very friendly and welcoming village.
The hot tub was a welcome addition and the temperature was perfect.
The whole property was well stocked and the attention to detail was perfect.
We would recommend Emma's for food, The Castle Inn, for drinks and the River Shack for food and crabbing.
Thank you very much.
We had a lovely week in the great property. Traditional English September weather with a mix of rain, sun and gale force winds, but no matter as it allowed us to simply enjoy our surroundings. Everything from the Sky Glass TV, the luxurious hot-tub, good Wi-Fi, and comfy beds and furniture was spot on and made for a very relaxing time. Village itself is lovely with the absence of street lights making for a spectacular night sky. The River Shack, a 10 min walk, was a lovely spot with good, reasonably priced food and good beer. Was a good base for exploring both Devon and Cornwall. Dog friendly beach at Goodrington was just a15 min drive away and much enjoyed by Duffy. Whilst we didn’t get to meet Deb, she checked in regularly to make sure everything was ok, which it was. Will not hesitate to book again when we next return to Devon.
This property is beautiful and not far from local shop and a couple of pubs. The communication with the host was great and Deb was extremely helpful during our stay with any queries.
We had a great family break here, had a lovely cream tea and other goodies left for us on arrival. We really had a great time, house clean and everything you would need, very comfy beds and sofa also very comfy! Hot tub was fabulous 👌. Thank you Deb, we would stay again.
