A wedding getaway in traverse City

We were invited to a wedding in traverse City and we chose this VRBO to stay at for the weekend and I couldn't be more happy with the coziness and location of this house. Everything was wonderful and I would definitely stay again or recommend my family to stay at this home. Thank you again for everything!

Easy Family Relaxation

Property provided everything our family of 5 plus pet could have needed. It was a great base to relax in and play games and eat smores with the family, and then travel to Traverse City for activities and fun. Would consider again next year especially around Cherry Festival time.

Nice property - we didn't want to leave

We had a great stay on Dyer Lake. The property was huge with a lot of space to relax, 2 fire pits, including one right on the lake. There were 5 of us and a dog that loved it. The house itself is cozy. It had everything we needed and a good amount of room. It would have been nice to have air conditioning as it was pretty hot during the day. Luckily it cooled down in the evenings. The location was great- very central to everything. Dyer Lake is a small, private lake with no motorboats, etc. Not a lot of fish, though we did catch some largemouth bass. Overall, we loved the place and would like to return some time soon.

Clean with Potential

Overall very clean and extremely speedy communication. There were plenty of dishes for everyone, and the pond/small lake view is lovely. There’s a close market that is fantastic, consider getting a pizza on your way back from the wineries. There were just a few little things that kept this from a 5 star. - The main dining area light doesn’t function. During the evening we wanted to play games and had to pull over the floor lamp to see anything. Communication about it was very quick, but they already knew this was an issue and have failed to fix it. -The fireplace listed is a pelt fireplace without instructions on how to use, didn’t seem to turn on. - Previous people left wood at outdoor fireplace, which would have been nice to take advantage of, but there is no wood cover on the property, so everything was just wet. If you have a fire pit, consider having a covered wood storage.- Closet doors janky and difficult to open/close - Extremely hard memory foam mattresses- Have to pull the front door closed and HOLD otherwise the door lock doesn’t engage - Received extremely strict language on “quiet hours starting at 10pm” but the VERY close neighbors were blasting music until 11:45 pm.- Pretty early check out at 10am, we didn’t ask for a late check out, but if considering staying here keep that in mind - Tacky fridge magnet with what constitutes a 5 star stay. Tacky to request anything less than a 5 star stay to message only, instead of putting a straight review.

We had a great time, traveling with 3 boys that like nature, fishing, kayaking, this property enabled them to do all. The kayaks were wonderful to have, the space in the house worked perfectly for our family, not huge but not small either. Plenty of supplies in the kitchen for the light cooking we did, loved having the washer /dryer which both worked great. Hot tub was clean and hot but the jets might need some repair, some did not work at all some only worked a little. Other than that it was a perfect space for a family of 5 to spend a week!

The property may be okay for 1 family but it is not good for 2 families with a total of 8 people. The kitchen table only has space for 6 adults, so we were lucky that the kids could squeeze onto the bench. There was only enough plates and silverware for 8 people, so we had to run the dishwasher after every meal. The hot tub was not clean and unusable for the whole visit. We told the agency that the hot tub was dirty and they came to look at it, but never followed up afterwards to apologize that it was not useable or provide an update on what was being done to address the issue. The lake is nice to look at but is located quite a distance from the home along a marshy path that is not easy for kids to navigate.

We had a wonderful stay! It was just a short drive outside of Traverse City in a quiet area of town. The house was clean, the kitchen had all the basics, and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub, and the kids loved the pool table. There was plenty of seating for our family to relax and watch TV. With all the snowfall, we especially appreciated the daily snowplow service and being able to park our vehicles in the garage.

Cozy and relaxing lakefront property

We really enjoyed a Northern Michigan weekend while staying at this property. The house was clean and inviting, and the back yard gives that perfect Up North feeling with tons of space with a lakefront at the end. I really enjoyed the location, plenty of grocery and food options nearby and close to Downtown TC, but just far enough to keep you out of the hustle and bustle to relax. Would recommend this rental and I would stay here again!

The home was clean, welcoming, nicely decorated and cozy. We loved having access to the kayaks and the tranquility of the lake was just what we needed! Plenty of towels provided; pool table and hot tub were bonuses and very much appreciated by our teenage boys. Plenty of clean Adirondack chairs when we used the firepit. Convenient to many attractions, including, downtown TC, etc. Great local recommendations by the host, and quick response when we had a question. The check out process was very easy. However, we were disappointed that bedrooms were much, MUCH smaller than portrayed in the photos and the two secondary bedrooms offered very little space to maneuver. No drawers in any of the bedrooms other than the single nightstand in two of the rooms. We suggest supplying at least double the amount of hangers in each closet, or invest in a clothing storage system, to maximize useful space in bedrm closets. Our friends traveled in from AZ and we hated that they had to live out of their suitcases. The king bed in the corner bedroom, while comfy, was flimsy and entirely too big for that room. Re: the path out to the dock: perhaps lay some plywood/construct a wooden walkway to cover the particularly mucky stretch. We noticed ants in the downstairs bathroom. It would be helpful to provide some instructions on how to activate the upstairs shower. Though the listing has a photo of cornhole, we did not find a set anywhere. This home is really ideal for 4-6 adults/2-4 childrn.

Cozy and a “Feel at Home” vibes

Toured around Michigan state with a group of friends on our motorcycles. This place was our first stop coming Chicago and it was very fitting for us. The house welcomed us like home and we were able to quickly settle in and rest our tired and aching bodies from all day riding on the road. The setting was perfect. We have acres of privacy, front and back. We fired up the firepit in the backyard, chilled and relaxed with our food and drinks. As the night settled in, we continued our conversation on a well sized deck until we retired for the night. Inside the house was warm and clean and accommodated everyone to sleep soundly and comfortably so that we are ready to hit the road again the next morning. Our host was excellent and always have an open line of communication and respond very timely. Overall, our entire group enjoyed the stay and this would be a spot for us to stay again if we do another tour of Michigan…

Cozy Stay

We are a group of 8 friends (4 couples) so the house was a bit tight for the kitchen / dining area. In addition, the pictures I did not realize that the 4th room option with a bed is in the basement next to the pool table so we used that room as a full bedroom, not really a hangout area so that couple could have their privacy. The house is near a neighbor that has a dog so know the dog will visit you (super friendly though), and the person next door was doing home work so you would hear nail guns, etc. The communication was not fast, so know that if you plan on having questions you will not get immediate responses (it took 2 days for the first set of questions) and then no response when I added comments for when we left. Overall it was nice, but I do not think we would go running back to the same place if we visit again.
