"Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Our room in a cave was unique and beautiful. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We did a private wine tasting which included wines made at their winery and a lot of good local history; their sister restaurant also was great for dinner. The location is perfect, easily walkable to the entirety of Matera. "

"No hot water for a shower this morning! Seriously??? I ran water for 5 minutes...nothing. I waited 30 minutes...still nothing. I had to take a wet towel bath with cold water this morning. The whole seperate bathroom is strange enough but to have no hot water for my shower is absolutely unacceprable! Never again. Ugh!"

"Habitación muy bonita, con muchos detalles. El desayuno te lo dejan por la mañana en la puerta. Como punto negativo es que para ir andando al centro histórico hay un paseo un poco pesado porque es cuesta arriba, pero se puede hacer. Puedes intentar acercar más el coche, pero el aparcamiento a la entrada del centro está complicado y es de pago. Los alojamientos más céntricos eran demasiado caros y además como digo la habitación era muy bonita y el dueño muy agradable. "

"It is very unique because is a real cave but with all the modern facilities. The host are great Domenica and Walter are extremely helpful and nice. Next to hotel there is an excellent restaurant with the typical food for lunch and dinner and very nice people also “da Nico”. We highly recommend and we will stay again in the future."

"Our stay at L’Antica Conceria was outstanding! Our host Martino went above and beyond assisting us with planning our time in Matera, all while using Google translate as his English was limited. "This is a self serve property. This does not suit us. First the directions on hotels.com were incorrect. Second when you are told a key will be sent we do not imagine an electronic message and codes. This delayed our entry to the property by 1hr. As it was raining the next morning having to go out for breakfast at a nearby cafe was also not convenient. "

"We were in two rooms below ground level, which were quiet, but no airflow. One room had a shower that was too small for an adult. They were clean and relatively comfortable otherwise. Breakfast was pastry and yogurt. We were able to park in one of the garages, otherwise, parking could be difficult. The location is awesome - very hard to find initially - it looks like it’s impossible to get to, but once you know, you know. Guessing that their other rooms may be nicer."
