"We were lucky to stay at the Rider's Roost. We had our two grandsons (8 & 11). Location was very close to Palo Duro Canyon, the scenic TX highway 207. We also went to Caprock Canyons and saw the Bison, a Roadrunner, and a Coyote. The Rider's Roost has sleeping quarters upstairs, kitchenette, nice shower/ toilet and a screened porch. We took our meals to the porch because it was cool and comfortable. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. It is a very charming place, the boys helped feed the chickens and the catfish in the pond. We also got to eat fresh eggs from the chickens. It was everything I wished it to be. The only drawback was the moth ball's pungent smell. But they are necessary to ward off moths. After a while your nose acclimates to the smell. Andrea is a very kind and friendly host."

"A perfect place to rest and relax away from all city noises while visiting the area, especially Palo Duro Canyon State Park, which is only 1.5 miles away. The decor of the cabin is rustic and includes a delightful, screened in porch with a swing and table that seats six comfortably. We didn't spend a lot of time in the cabin during the day as we were visiting our son and his family who were camping in the State Park. We took advantage of several amenities such as wi-fi and a full kitchen and refrigerator complete with fresh eggs and bagels provided by Andrea. We will certainly recommend The Hideout to our friends and family."

"I was very impressed with this little cottage in the country. It was clean and quaint and comfortable. My husband and I especially liked the bedding. The shower was great and we felt right at home. I will definitely consider the Prairie Blossom if I return to hike the Canyon."

"I have been using VRBO for roughly 20 years. This was the best communication from the owner/management I've ever experienced, by far. House was clean and charming. The view was breathtaking. Even my teenagers' exclaimed it was the best view of their lives and began to FaceTime family and friends to show off this special place. We cooked spaghetti and ate outside with that view. Then I woke up and did it all again with that view and my coffee. Cool general store and beer/wine bar called The Sad Monkey and only 4 min drive away. Thank you! Jonathan"

"Beverly was the best met us at the house and had guacamole and margaritas for us. The view was spectacular and property was gorgeous. The house was clean and spacious and had everything we may possibly need. The highlight was feeding the sheep by hand. Highly recommend and hope to return."
