The lodge has private access to the world famous Tongariro river and has hosted Governor Generals, Legendary author and angler Zane Grey and an abundance of fishermen, skiers and holiday makers seeking rest and recreation on New Zealand’s volcanic plateau.

The lodge exudes character from every grain and pore; with books including the bestselling ‘Angler’s El dorado’ and ‘The lure of the trout’ have been penned on the premises.
