The Sweet "Harte" Retreat
Our peaceful and relaxing mountain getaway has a wrap around deck and fire pit (during non fire season) for entertaining and just to relax and unwind a mist a backdrop of trees. Along with a gas BBQ we do provide the propane tanks but do not maintain them you may bring your own or exchange them ( for a fee) in town for a full one. We also provide wifi streaming for indoor entertainment as well as lots of DVD's. In the bonus room we have a Wii for the kids and a playstation 2 plus an indoor basketball game. We do have a lot of stairs throughout the cabin being its a tri level and unfortunately we do not have any handicap access available. Parking- We have 2/3 depending on vehicle size on street parking places as well as another driveway to park ( but its steep and we don't advise you park down there unless you have all wheel drive) and not at all during the wintertime. ~Year round enjoyment~ Twain Harte has a 9 hole golf course and a 18 hole mini golf course. Along with tennis courts that are free to the public year round. Sonora is a short 10 min drive to antique shopping and they also have a 18 hole golf course named Phoenix Lake. Railtown in Jamestown is a big hit with the kids. Black Oak Casino is fun for gambling and a bowling alley. Columbia State Park and panning for gold. Wine tasting~ La Bella Vineyard Gianelli Vineyards Griffin Vineyards Larson Vineyards Oaks Family Vineyard Plus many other wineries in the Calaveras area to explore.
~~~~ SUMMER~~~~ Free Friday Night Movies in Eproson Park Free Saturday Night Concerts in Eproson Park Although we do not have a lake access membership we do refer our guests to river access places that are very fun for all ages. Twain Harte community pool Pinecrest Lake is up the road about 18 miles and worth the drive with plenty to do. Hiking, boating, fishing, kayaking along with swimming and a picnic area. The Lake also has an amphitheater where they have family movie nights in the summer. Cover's Apple Ranch is a fun outing for the whole family plus they have yummy apple treats and more.
~~~~Winter~~~~ Make sure you travel with chains or have 4 wheel drive the roads are plowed but chains may still be required. Please be aware of road conditions prior to your arrival. There are no refunds due to severe weather or power outages. travel insurance is always a good idea when visiting the mountains as the weather can be very unpredictable.

The location is beautiful. Just remote enough to feel like a getaway, but close enough to stores that you don't have to go far to get essentials. The home was nice, clean and comfortable.

Everything was great. Just the beds. The mattresses make a lot of noise. I think need a new mattresses or box springs in all rooms. But I love the place. 100 %

The house that our family stayed in was quite pleasant and homely, truly harnessing the aesthetic of a log cabin in the wilderness, although without the cold such a stay would entail. The house was well heated, and the multitude of games and the PS2 kept the younger ones entertained.

Heather’s cabin was absolutely wonderful! We walked in and we were greeted with welcome sign and a cute Christmas tree. Loved all the space but it also felt extremely cozy. Our kids’s favorite part? The deer that greeted us every morning! An awesome memory they’ll never forget. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a very relaxing visit at this quiet cabin in the woods. The cabin is very clean, and our party of 8 had plenty of space to spread out. We loved sitting on the back deck, that overlooks a yard below, where we had frequent visits from deer. The game room is great for the kids (and grown up kids too). The owner, Heather, is VERY quick to respond, and she was very helpful! We will definitely be back.

Our family of 12 had an amazing time. The place is nice and quiet. The views of the backyard big trees and the deck are just beautiful. The place had everything you need to have a good time. It's very close to a casino, Pinecrest Lake, River access to day use areas and close to Calaveras Big Trees. We would love to stay there again in the future. The Wi-Fi was strong for all kids to have access to their devices, the Amazon Prime access allowed for family movie nights. The fire pit in the backyard was nice to have drinks and enjoy the views. Thank you, great memories added to our bucket list.

Overall it was a great cabin, slept really comfortable. It was really clean so we didn’t have to worry about that. Only 2 things that could have made it better. One, the kitchen does need glasses for adults, it had enough plastic for children. And secondly, the game room needs games. It’s full of destroyed boxes and incomplete games. As well as the games for the PS2, a lot of boxes were empty. The basketball game was great! Kids loved that!
Location is great, 35 minute drive to my Leland and really close to the he small town.
Would definitely recommend.

Loved those huge windows so you could feel like you were out in the woods from sun up to sun down. The deer came right up to the house. So easy to enjoy all these things while having a baby along also. Loved it!

We came for a weekend to do some skiing at Dodge Ridge. We didn't get a chance to fully explore the area. It's quite nice. There's a stream or river flowing below the property.
The property is very close to Twain Harte so getting take away was really easy.
We would stay here again.

We had a wonderful weekend stay! This house has everything you need for a family-friendly get away. The paved driveway was definitely steep but worked out just fine! The kids had so much fun with the bunkbed room. Gorgeous views!

Cute and cozy updated cabin in a quiet secluded area. Great deck for morning coffee or evening gatherings under a beautiful canopy of oaks, pines and cedars. View of a pond at the bottom of the property where deer drink and ducks swim. We really enjoyed our stay.

This was a beautiful cabin nestled in the trees, Heather replies fast and is kind. Cabin is fully equipped just bring food and beverages it was very clean and well kept and has a warm feeling you do get a sense of peace sitting on the deck. The kids loved it too for them not being outside types they did not complain once or say they where bored, the gaming stuff in the basement was heaven sent when we got rained out. Close to the snowy areas and small towns just a friendly place I personally cannot wait to be back! Thank you for the experience :)
