"Retreat #2 is wonderful on its own or as an additional rental with the main house. We rented it for our extra family members and they really enjoyed their stay. The beds were comfortable and the space nicely laid out. We would definitely stay it again!"

"We were four couple and two kids, here for a week, for a family reunion and wedding. The bedroom in the basement had private bath, walkout doors, perfect for our bride and groom. Two bedrooms on main floor had private baths. Two bedrooms with lots of beds shared a bath upstairs (great for a family with kids). Small A/C units in bedrooms, "swamp cooler" in living room and large fans throughout the house kept things comfortable in July. The backyard/patio is amazing. (See photo.) A short walk gets you into "downtown." (Restaurants, stores, mini-golf, park and playground, public pool.) Best of all, for the summer months, the house has a membership at Twain Harte Lake, which is a short drive, and is lovely and relaxing, with snack a bar available.Scott was very responsive and helpful. There is plenty of room to park up to seven carsWe live on the East Coast and don't expect to get out to CA much, but if we get an opportunity to go back to Twain Harte, I would be delighted to rent this house again."

"We had a wonderful stay at Bear Cub Cabin in Twain Harte. Communication with the host was excellent from start to finish. The property is large and spacious, and we especially enjoyed relaxing on the deck in the evenings to take in the beautiful weather. The cabin was well stocked with thoughtful amenities, including chairs for the lake, an ice chest, towels, and more—although we didn’t use many of these items, it’s clear the owners have gone out of their way to make guests feel welcome.The only downside was the cleanliness of the cabin, which was below our expectations. I shared my notes with the host, and I’m confident these issues will be addressed for future guests.Overall, a great location with plenty of space and wonderful hosting."
"Gail was friendly and answered all my questions promptly. Everything you need is provided including kitchen towels, soap, foil, plastic wrap, spices, a NEW in the wrapper kitchen sponge, shampoo, conditioner and body wash, laundry soap, everything! It was hot when we visited so we used the ceiling fans and pulled out the floor fans. Opened the windows and by bedtime it was cool enough to sleep comfortably. The property is walking distance to downtown where we enjoyed exploring the live music, restaurants and mini golf. We chose to drive to the lake because we had a bunch of stuff. Can’t bring your own food in but the snack shack makes restaurant quality food at a reasonable price. The cabin is comfortable, clean and the neighborhood is quiet. We would definitely stay here again. "
