"My partner and I stayed for two nights and loved it at Irumote So! The room was spacious, the hosts are so lovely, and the hostel is equipped with everything you need. The rooftop patio was a beautiful place to watch the sun set. It’s a little far from town but the hosts will pick you up and drop you off from the ferry terminal. There’s a restaurant nearby which was great for dinners both nights. 10/10 would recommend to anyone staying in Iriomote. "

"Seems to be newly built. Basic free amenities, the room itself is very modern with a comfortable bed, TV, air conditioning, kettle, private shower, and fridge. There is a vnding machine on site. The staff don't speak too much English but we were able to communicate just fine (日本語ちょっとおしゃべるけどギリギリ (笑) In regards to the area, there's not too much; some restaurants and a small supermarket, the staff have a list at the front desk of what is around the area. Very close to the port, so a very good choice if you're coming in from Uehara port "

"I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Iriomote. There's lots of space on the property, including a massive bathroom and a huge terrace, with a sea view where you can see the stars at night. There's also lots of wildlife that can be easily seen from many areas on the property, for example frogs and coconut crabs. It's extremely peaceful, with only two rooms (and the other was unoccupied when we stayed) The breakfast each morning is small but delicious, and they take care to change the menu every day. The biggest reason for giving the highest rating to this property was that we got stuck on the island during a typhoon. The owner helped us by arranging an extra night, and then driving us to various places such as lunch and the supermarket so that we could still enjoy our stay as much as possible. The owner can speak good English if you're worried about communication. The location is also convenient; perhaps a 10 minute or so drive from the main ferry port, and a couple of great restaurants within walking distance."
